Sports Minister Promises To Deliver AWCN For Ghana

The Minister of Youth and Sports Honorable Nii Lante Vanderpuye has promised to deliver the African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCN) for the first time in the history of this country.


 


The Ghana’s Black Queens did qualify for the tournament in grand style after defeating Tunisia 4-0, in the second leg qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.


The 10th edition of the Women’s Champions will take place from 19 November – 3 December 2016 in Cameroon.


 


In a brief media interaction after the match the Honorable Minster said “my expectation is we will win the African Cup for the first time, it is unheard of for a country like Ghana not to win the African Cup, we should be able to win it”.


 


The Black Queens will be making the their 11th appearance at the championship having being Runners-up 1998, 2002, 2006
