Spain have announced their provisional 25-man squad for their upcoming friendlies and the European Championships, with Vicente Del Boque leaving out Fernando Torres and Diego Costa.
The Euro 2008 and 2012 winners were left shell-shocked at the major tournament at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and will be eager to make amends for their poor group exit.
The nation has backed Del Bosque – he did win three tournaments on the bounce, including the 2010 World Cup – and he will be hoping to deliver once again this summer before retirement.
Spain face Bosnia and Herzegovina in their first friendly at the end of the month, before they then take on South Korea and Georgia days before their European Championship games begin.
The La Furia Roja’s squad includes a whole host of Premier League stars, with the likes of Cesc Fabregas, David Silva, Pedro, but Costa is not included.
Spain are in Group D at the Euros this summer and will face Czech Republic, Croatia and Turkey, taking on Czech Republic in their first game on the 13 June in Toulouse.
