Confirmed: Mainz Goalkeeper Agrees Personal Terms With Liverpool

Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius, according to reports in Germany.

The 22-year-old has a £7.9m release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga side.

And German magazine Kicker claims the Reds have made their move as Jurgen Klopp looks to add to his goalkeeping options.

They state that a deal is now largely agreed although the German still needs to undergo a medical.

Liverpool have been linked with signing a new goalkeeper this summer for several months after a number of high-profile errors from current No.1 Simon Mignolet.

Barcelona’s Marc-Andre her Stegen and Cologne’s Timo Horn were among the names Liverpool were reportedly interested in but it appears Klopp has now decided on Karius.

Should a deal be completed, he could become Klopp’s fourth senior signing since taking charge at Anfield last October.
