Olympic superstar Usain Bolt has revealed his dream to one day play for the club he supports, Manchester United.
Bolt is a renowned fan of the Red Devils and was a special guest of the club at the 2011 Champions League final in London. The big name sportsman has long been adamant he would like to don the iconic red shirt in the future.
The 29-year-old has revealed he intends to retire from athletics next year and would jump at the chance to play for the Old Trafford outfit, and show off his blistering pace on the football pitch.
Bolt told TV2 Norway: “If I got a chance to play for the team, I would love to play for Manchester United, even if it is just one game.
“It would be great because it is my favourite team. I have supported them for years so if I got a chance to play one or two matches I’d be happy.”
The Olympic champion has also made his feelings known about Louis van Gaal’s tenure at the club. The Dutchman has been tipped to potentially leave at the end of the season after two years in charge.
Van Gaal’s time at United has been a struggle, particularly this term, and it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will qualify for the Champions League next season.
And Bolt has now revealed he isn’t sure that the former Netherlands boss is the right man for his favoured side and has also suggested he wanted current Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, to take the reigns in Manchester.
