Wa Rockets FC Captain Revels In MTN FA Progress

Ambitious captain for Wa Rockets FC, Salifu Cisse has fired a verbal warning to the remaining clubs in the MTN FA Cup competition after their progress to the last eight of the competition.


The club’s top scorer openly dared any side to be wary of his giant killing side ahead of the draw for the quarter finals.


A solitary strike from Isaac Bawa gunned Asokwa Deportivo out of the competition in their last 16 clash at the Wa Park on Friday to extend their dream campaign in the domestic cup competition.


Salifu Cisse, who has five goals this season in all competition’s , predicted a podium finish for his youthful looking side in the coveted MTN FA Cup competition.


Briefing sportscrusader.com after their 1-0 win over Deportivo, Cisse said, “Honestly I am surprised at our form in the MTN FA Cup so far. I have a change of mind after this win over Deportivo and can now speak without fear that Rockets FC look destined for the 2016 FA Cup trophy”.


The former Hearts Babies centre forward added, “We have reached a stage where every club left in the competition is a potential winner and must be respected for its feat. Every team left in the last eight can easily win the trophy and we are no exception to that either. At least we will play in the final if not winning it”.


Salifu Cisse led the scoring chart in the Upper West regional Division II League  in the colours of Rockets FC as they booked their ticket to the second tier league at the first time of trying last season.


The club is currently ninth in Zone I of the GN Bank Division One League after in this, their debut campaign.
