Hearts" Ban Reduced

The Appeals Committee (AC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sanctioned Accra Hearts of Oak to play their next two Ghana Premier League (GPL) home matches behind closed doors.

The Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the FA slapped the Phobians with hefty ban and fine for crowd violence in their GPL defeat to Wa All Stars in March.

The former league champions exercised their right to appeal, and pleaded for the Appeals Committee to ‘temper justice with mercy’.

The AC reduced the ban from three to two match. However, they upheld the ruling of the Disciplinary Committee to fine Hearts of Oak a total of GH¢ 12,000  for the three counts they were charged.

Thus, Hearts of Oak’s midweek game against Sekondi Hasaacas at the Accra sports stadium will be played behind close doors.
