Tijani Joshua Disappointed In Ashgold"s First Round Performance

Defender for reigning Ghana Premier league champions, Tijani Joshua has revealed his disappointment at the woeful first round performance of the Miners.

The imposing versatile defender admitted to a dreadful performance from his side in their quest to defend the trophy but failed to rule out a remarkable turn around.

The 24 year old former Wa All Stars rear guard believes it is very much possible for the Aboakese side to defend their domestic championship despite wining just 2 of the opening 15 matches.

Joshua Tijani, who played a starring role along side Lawrence Lartey and Kadri Mohammed at the back for the title winning Miners, envisaged a very strong second round for the Miners as the search for fitness and form continues.

“I am not satisfied with our first half performance as a gruop of pkayers. We can still go on and defend the league trophy but our current form must be looked into”, Tijani Joshua told sports crusader.

On the missing piece in their turbulent first round of the season, the amused defender said, “nothing went wrong for us as a club. It is just part of the game and sometimes these things happen to any club.

I can however assure fans of Ashgold sporting club that the second round will be a different ball game altogether. We will give our fans a different Ashgold from the one they witnessed in the opening half of the season”.

Ashgold SC stormed the 2014/15 FCPPL season to end a run of 19 years without a domestic championship trophy but has so far mustered just 2 wins, 3 defeats and an alarming 10 draws in the first half of the current campaign.
