Everton and Southampton have agreed a compensation deal for manager Ronald Koeman.
Everton are yet to confirm that the deal to take Koeman to Goodison Park has been completed, but an announcement is expected in the next 24 hours.
Two of Koeman’s backroom staff at Southampton – his brother Erwin and Jan Kluitenberg – are anticipated to make the move with the former Feyenoord manager.
There were also reports that Southampton were trying to insert a clause into the deal that would see Everton unable to go for any of the Saints’ players were Koeman to take over at Goodison, but Sky Sports News HQ understands that has never been part of the negotiations.
Sky sources reported over the weekend the Dutchman had emerged as the club’s main target to replace Roberto Martinez following his dismissal at the end of the season.
Koeman’s agent Rob Jansen met with new Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri to hammer a out a compensation deal – thought to be in the region of £5m.
