General Manager for Wa All Stars Seth Panwum has cautioned his players to eschew complacency ahead of their local derby with Wa Rockets FC over the weekends.
The two Wa based side go head to head for a place in the last four of the 2016 MTN FA Cup but the General Manager for the league leaders rallied his boys to approach the game with all the caution they can.
Wa All Stars thumped Brong Ahafo based second tier Wamanafo Mighty Royals by 6-0 to book a place in the last eight whiles Rockets progressed at the expense of Power Sporting club.
Wa Rockets extended their winless on home turf to five successive games at the Wa Park but the soft spoken Seth ruled out any complacent approach to the quarter final tie slated for Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Wa Park.
“The FA Cup is a complete environment altogether and comes with its own motivation that cannot be driven by the domestic Championship. We have to avoid been the better side ahead of the game or risk getting shocked by Wa Rockets in the cup tie. The playing staff and all related to Wa All Stars must avoid tagging Wa Rockets as under dogs since they qualified by merit like we did”, Seth told sports crusader exclusively.
A very late thumping header from captain Salifu Cisse denied Berekum Arsenal valuable points at the Wa Park in the final match of the GN Bank division one league matches across the nation.
Upper West remained the only region in the country to have produced two representatives in the last eight of the coveted MTN FA Cup.
