Jordan Ayew’s superb drive against Newcastle failed to get him much vote to be crowned BBC MOTD fans choice goal of the month for December.

 

aAston Villa and Ghanaian striker, Jordan Ayew’s  superb goal against Newcastle that earned Villians a point at St. James’ Park was shortlisted by BBC match of the day team for best goal in the month of December.

Ayew struck from the penalty box after picking up a lose ball and beat two Newcastle defenders before bending the ball into the far left of goal keeper Elliott’s post.

 

Cuco Martina voted winner of goal of the month

The 24-year-old was competing along with Aaron Ramsey(Arsenal), Mesut Ozil(Arsenal), Riyad Mahrez(Leicester City), Lee Chung-Yong(Crystal Palace), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Yaya Toure(Manchester City), Marko Arnautovic(Stoke City), Xhedran Shaqiri(Stoke City) and eventual winner, Cuco Martina(Southampton).

 

The Curaçao right back, Cuco Martina’s opening goal against Arsenal in a 4 – 0 thrashing of the Gunners got more votes and was crowned best goal for the month of December.
