Competition for positions in Kotoko is good for us - Kotoko Assistant Coach

Kumasi Asante Kotoko assistant trainer Micheal Osei has said the keen competition for starting berth in his team will make them stronger.

The vice trainer with the rejuvenated Kumasi based seasonal premier league campaigners welcomed the healthy competition from the playing squad ahead of the much expected 2016 domestic football season.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko almost recruited a full set of team in the off season and has since fired some warning shots to their domestic rivals with a title winning performance in the GHALCA G6 maiden tournament.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko endured a torrid 2014/15 domestic season but has since found that missing piece in their off season preparations.

The 24 times league champions thumped Jagodino FC of Serbia 5-0 before storming the G6 trophy in a ruthless manner.

The Reds of Ghana football confirmed their return to form on the local terrain with four individual awards to add to the ultimate trophy in the just ended First Trust G6 tournament at the Essipong stadium

“There are options for each positions on the field and that has given us a very rich bench.

“Every player will have to fight for his place or try to maintain his position and this will help the team. Signs of this competition was seen in our last two matches as a team.” Osei told sports crusader.

The Assistant trainer also commended the players for gelling at the appropriate time ahead of the season.

“Winning this the G6 trophy will lift the morale and confidence of the players ahead of the new season. I congratulate them for them for their efforts so far”

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has since scored 12 goals in the last four matches with three trophies to boot after an indifferent season in the 2014/15 FCPPL.
