Edwin Gyamfi has arrived in Abuja to receive a special award in honour of the memory of late father C.K Gyamfi at the CAF African Player of the Year awards gala on Thursday.
CAF will be honouring Gyamfi who led Ghana to three African Cup of Nations titles.
The former player and coach died late last year after losing his long-standing battle with illness.
His immense achievements with the Black Stars however lives on and will be duly recognized by the continent’s football governing body at its flagship awards on Thursday.
Ghana forward Andre Ayew has also arrived in Abuja to contest the African Player of the Year award.
He is up against Ivorian star Yaya Toure and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon.
