Hearts Players Are Not Attractive - Former Black Stars Defender

Hearts Players Can’t Attract Fans – Club Legend

Accra Hearts of Oak are going through turmoil if the situation isn’t already disastrous one might say. The millennium club are battling administrative wranglings, player recruitment policies and ‘managerial choice’ – in Kenichi Yashuashi’s managerial competence.

The Phobians finished the 2014/15 First Capital Plus premier league season in 13th place and are yet to be convincing under new manager, Keni. The Japanese – American joined the phobians in the off season but doubts still surround his competence as the right man to lead the team.

The rainbow club has been recording lower crowd attendance each and every passing season and if the form shown – four defeats and one draw under their Japanese manager is anything to go by then there will be no improvement in spectatorship.

Many former players and management members of Hearts have expressed their dissatisfaction at the way the club is been handled and the quality of players that have been brought in.

Fresh to add his voice is former club defender and captain, Dan ‘Kofi Wayo’ Quaye. He spoke passionately and candidly of how a big club like Hearts is been handled like an area select team.

In an interview with Boss fm 93.7, Quaye said, “Who (player) can the fans say is the reason why they will go to the stadium to see Hearts play? I dare the management to bring in the experienced players like myself and blend with the new and young players and see how that will attract the fans to the fans to the stadium.

“The Hearts fans now lack leadership and that is what the new boys need to help them develop into Hearts of Oak players. Look at Stephen Oduro and how is performing even at his age and see the positive effect it’s having in attracting the fans to the stadium,” he added.
