Midfielder Isaac Twum admits his career received a massive boost after costing Ghana a place at the U17 African Championships.
The Black Starlets were disqualified from taking part in the tournament following a successful protest lodged by Cameroon concerning the age of the Inter Allies player.
Twum was declared to have cheated on his age but the Ghana FA escaped a further ban after it was concluded the infraction during MRI tests to ascertain the age of the player was not deliberate.
The teenager became public enemy no.1 to some football fans and even some of teammates for being the reason why Ghana was not represented at the African U17 championships.
But the midfielder in recounting his experience during this difficult period feels his career also benefited from the scandal.
“I felt very bad but in life, you have to expect the good and bad things that come your way,” he told Footballmadeinghana.
“It even made me popular because people were desperate to watch my games.”
Isaac Twum has since joined Inter Allies following the relegation of Heart of Lions at the end of last season.
