The vice president of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Mr. Isaac Koomson, has insisted that the local league is very much alive, contrary to to the belief by some football loving Ghanaians that it is dead.
GHALCA successfully organized the maiden edition of the G-6 Invitational Tournament, an action which was won by Asante Kotoko last Sunday.
In all six teams, namely, Aduana Stars, Ashantigold, Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, Berekum Chelsea and SC Medeama participated in the four day mini tournament.
All the teams displayed very good footballing skills as the fans were very excited with the performance of their beloved Clubs.
Kotoko eventually won the tournament beating Aduana Stars by a lone goal in the final match, and this according to Isaac Koomson will go down as one of the best tournaments the country has ever witnessed, judging from the prformance ofall the teams.
“It is difficult to pick out one team that performed below average. All the six teams gave the fasn so much excitement and that to us is good feeling.”
“The local league is very much alive and anyone who watched the matches in the tournament will attest to that fact. All we need now is proper structures and good reports from our friends the media and I tell you, this percption of the league dying or dead, will disappear”, Koomson told footballcrusader.com.
