A retired FIFA Referee and member of the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG), Joe Debrah has blamed the Ghana Football Association for the continues assault on match officials this season.
There have been drastic increase in cases of assault on match officials this season especially in the GN Bank National Division One League.
And speaking on an Accra based radio station, Asempa FM on Tuesday, Joe Debrah attributed the growing incidence of club violence to the delays in the Disciplinary process at the football Association.
According to him, the FA has not done enough in recent times to curb the situation as it takes them too much time to issue our Disciplinary rulings on cases of crowd violence.
He noted that, until the FA start to swiftly issue out rulings, clubs wont be deterred from attacking match officials.
In a related development, the Referees Association of Ghana are set to meet on Wednesday to discuss the continues assault on their members at various match venues across the country.
It is still unclear what the outcome of the meeting will be but investigations by SportsCrusader.com indicate that the Referees Association will boycott matches in the lower tier if nothing is done by the FA to curb the situation
