Liverpool Agrees Deal With Fiorentina For Balotelli Swap

Liverpool have offered Mario Balotelli to Fiorentina as part of a deal for midfielder Josip Ilicic, according to reports.

Balotelli has been linked with a move away from Anfield and is not expected to return to the club once his loan spell with AC Milan ends.

“I do not want to return to Liverpool. I was never happy at Liverpool,” he told Italian broadcaster Mediaset Premium.

And recent reports have linked him with a number of moves, including a permanent deal with Milan and a switch to Spain with Espanyol.

However, Italian website CalcioMercatoWeb claim a move to Fiorentina is on the cards as the Reds set their sights on La Viola star Ilicic.

The Slovenia international has been in fine form this season, with 15 goals and 6 assists to his name in 37 appearances.

And according to the report, the Merseyside club have offered Balotelli on loan as a makeweight in a deal for the 28-year-old.

Fiorentina have reportedly agreed to the swap in principle but are negotiating with the Reds to subsidies a large chunk of his £4.6million-a-year wages.
