Asante Kotoko is considering omitting the name of midfielder Jackson Owusu from the squad for the second round of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The former Berekum Chelsea midfielder was pivotal in the Porcupine Warriors near success in the 2014-15 GPL season and was expected to provide the shield required this season.
Unfortunately, barely a week to this year’s league, Jackson Owusu fractured his tibia — which was a major blow to the Fabulous family.
Earlier reports from doctors revealed that he was expected be out of the for the entire season, but it was later reported that he could play in the second round of the season.
His recovery progress is slow, and technical team and management are not convinced he could be available for the later part of the season.
Moreover, the club is afraid of leaving his position void until he is fully recovered and is considering replacing him with a midfielder they are currently in the transfer market for.
Sources say management are in the market for an ‘experienced midfielder’, a player they believe will be a perfect replacement of Jackson.
