Commonwealth Title: Ghana"s Micah To Face Zambia"s Chanda In November

Ghana boxer, Duke Micah (18-0, 17 KOs) will fight reigning WBO Africa Bantamweight champion, Matthew Chanda (7-0, 2 KOs) on November 12th for the vacant British Commonwealth belt at York Hall in London, United Kingdom.

Chanda, a UK-based Zambian who is former Crown & Manor ABC ace, has won two national novice titles, four London championships and a Gold medal at the Haringey Box Cup during his time at the Hoxton-based club.

He is confident he can overcome the challenge of Micah for this title bout.

Micah, a former 2012 Ghana Olympian, successfully defended his WBO Africa Bantamweight belt last December, stopping compatriot, Ekow Wilson in round eight.

Micah, last month at the Accra Sports Stadium, stopped Nigeria’s Yaqub Kareem in round nine and has been tipped as the next big thing for Ghana boxing.

Just recently, his fellow compatriot, Richard Commey lost a world title bout to Robert Easter Junior in IBF lightweight category on September 9 in Reading, Pennsylvania.
