Kotoko – Al-Ittihad Game Will Be Competitive – Libyan Club President Assures


Kumasi Asante Kotoko are ready to face Libyan club, Al Ittihad on Wednesday afternoon. The game will be Kotoko’s first since leaving Ghana for Libya on Saturday after playing one game in the jut ended GHALCA First Trust G6.


 


 


Al-Ittihad who became the first Libyan club to qualify for the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League in 2007, where they lost to eventual runners-up Al-Ahly of Egypt will host their Ghanaian counterparts at the 50,000 capacity 11th June stadium.


 

Kotoko’s head Coach Duncan and his team will be poised to battle the strong Libyan side. The Kumasi based understand the importance of the clash and with the form the Ghanaian club have shown, the pressure will be on them to win this game if not at least draw.


 


 


The Libyan club’s president led a delegation to welcome the porcupine warriors and assured them of a competitive game and an entertaining match when they paid a visit to Kotoko’s training ground.


He said, “My impression about your team is it’s a very great team. we know the technique of Kotoko and know is ts a strong team and also know Ghanaian clubs are strong.”


 


“We’ve a good relationship with Kotoko and Ghana football as a whole but we will give Kotoko a strong and technical match that the fans will enjoy the match. It will remain in the memory of the fans for a long time to come,” he added.

Kotoko clash with Al-Ittihad is on Wednesday at 2pm Libyan time and 4pm GMT.
