NSA Refutes GHALCA Blame For Stadium Black Out
Barisof Amui, head of the national sports authority (NSA) in the western region has refute claims by the Ghana league clubs association financial secretary, George Amoako, who in an interview claimed they (GHALCA) paid for every facility at the stadium and it was their (NSA) responsibility to see to it that the generator was in good condition as well as other facilities.
The Essipong sports stadium in Sekondi which is the venue hosting all the games for the the inaugural First Trust G6 had the floodlights go off after twenty minutes of game played involving Accra Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars in the second match of the tourney.
In an exclusive interview with footballcrusader.com, Mr. Amui said, “GHALCA have no right to point finger at the national sports authority (NSA). We (NSA) have been in discussions with television broadcasters, Super Sports for over months in preparedness to the tourney but haven’t seen anyone from GHALCA. They (GHALCA) only came around three days to the start of the G6 tourney and have no right to say we are to blame for the light going off.”
Mr. Amui spoke emotionally when asked why the NSA seem to sabotage GHALCA, he replied, “I don’t want to collectively say GHALCA, but whoever claims they’ve paid money to NSA is stupid, a liar and a hypocrite. The only agreement we have with GHALCA with regards to payment has to do with 15% of the gross – gate proceeds paid to the authority.
The Ghana football association, NSA and GHALCA have settled on a revised time for Friday’s games involving Kotoko facing Berekum Chelsea and Hearts clash with Medeama; whilst work on fixing the generator is fastened to get the tourney back to the initial calendar of playing some matches under floodlights.
