Don’t Categorise The Ghana League As In ‘Limbo’ – GFA Prez
Ghana Football Association president and Chairman of the West African football union, Kwesi Nyantakyi, quashed a question thrown at him by a journalist during WAFU zone B congress at the Movenpick Hotel.
Doubts, questions and less answers hover around what exactly to do to get the league back on its feet which seems to be the desire of all stakeholders involved in the game.
When Nyantakyi was asked why leagues within the west Africa zone B have poor league patronage and seems unattractive and appear to be limbo, he answered, “Togo have not played a league for two years , Benin have their peculiar challenge and based on that you cant categorise Ghana in same group.”
He added, “the Ghana league yes has challenges but it has been organised annually unlike what neighbouring Togo and Benin are currently going through.”
The new date for the start to the 2015/16 season is still unknown but the FA are sure the stumbling block – the Techiman city, Tema youth and Dreams FC cases which are delaying will be sorted out in no time to pave way for the commencement of the league.
Verdict: Ghana"s League Is Not In "Limbo" - Nyantakyi
