Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane sarcastically eulogized the center referee in his side’s 0-2 loss to Medeama in the CAF Confederation Cup second leg at the Essipong sports stadium.
The Brazilians were knocked out of the race for a place in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday despite having two goals advantage.
Pitso Mosimane credited Medeama for the result, but alleged that officials of the Mauve and Yellows behaviour was unsportsmanlike and condemned them for that.
He also said the Algerian referee performance was unbelievable.
“The game was very good, but we didn’t have control of the game, other people had control of the game. We saw what happened, it was unbelievable we had people from Medeama into our bench to fight us during the game, we had to fight back,”
“This is not football the referee from Algeria was unbelievable. But Medeama won, congratulations to Medeama, they are a very good team,” he said in a post-match press conference.
The draw for the group stage of the competition will be held on Friday.
