J. Y. Appiah Threatens DOL Board With Legal Action

Board member of Bofoakwa Tano football club, Joseph Yaw Appiah, has stated he’s heading to the court to seek interpretation to some bad decisions from the Division One League [DOL] board.

The second tier of Ghana football has consistently witnessed legal wranglings that has either delayed the end of the season or the commencement of the new season.

And this, the former Premier League Board chairman, claims he is trying to prevent, hence his decision to sue the DOL board.

“There are many issues that befalls our football especially Division One. Bawku United had forfeited three league games stating financial difficulties, but the rule of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] states clearly such an act from a club should result in demotion.

“There’s a rumoured match fixing between Bolga Stars and BA United. This, we’ve alerted the DOL board to take action, else come the end of the season, we litigate after the league else we will witness another late start to the 2016/17 season.”
