Togo Pip Uganda In Friendly

Uganda Cranes suffered a 1-0 defeat to Togo on Tuesday night as the prepare to take on the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Lalawele Atakora’s half hour goal was enough to hand the hosts victory ahead of the Cranes who were not sharper in front of goal.

The Cranes even though very wasteful had their moments in the first half, Farouk Miya, skipper Geoffrey Massa and Kizito Luwagga involved in a sleek passing move only for Togo goalkeeper Kossi Agassa to stop the shot.

The Cranes returned from recess hungrier, Togo fans even applauding Oloya after his trickery bamboozled Togo’s Kouloun Maklibè.

Micho seemed encouraged, later throwing on Yunus Sentamu in place of Luwagga as the Cranes pushed for an equalizer.

Togo did force the Cranes back, Murushid Juuko intercepting a dangerous ball in the visitors’ area as the clock clicked away which made the hawks of Togo earn the win at the end of the game.

Meanwhile, the Cranes are expected to arrive in Ghana on Thursday, 6 October, 2016 ahead of the match with Ghana which will be played in Tamale.
