West African Football Academy Sporting Club’s (WAFA SC) versatile midfielder Martin Antwi has heaped kind words on the home based strikers in the Ghana Premier league.
The imposing midfielder cited the ruthless nature of the GPL Strikers and their predatory instincts as enough for them to be respected.
The Sogakope based energetic player rated the strikers among the best in their chosen positions but urged them not to rest on their laurels.
Martin Antwi played down the absence of Samuel Tetteh and John Killa from their side and tipped the Academy side to improve their first round performance.
“Strikers in the league must be respected and given that treatment they deserve. Their striking Powers or abilities has been super and it can be seen in their strength with the ball at the feet. It is very difficult to take the ball away as a defender and they still score a lot of goals.”, Antwi told sports crusader.
The 20 year old midfielder is expected to shoulder some scoring responsibilities in the absence of star forward Samuel Tetteh who joined Austrian side Salzburg half way through the season.
