All Stars Defender Wary Of Premature Celebration

Wa All Stars talismanic center-back, Nicholas Mensah, has cautioned his teammates to avoid premature celebration ahead of the title run-in.

The versatile defender rallied his colleagues to sustain the same hunger that saw them surge to the top of the league if they are to avoid any late collapse.

The former Tudu Mighty Jets defender remains optimistic of his side’s chances of annexing the ultimate trophy, with four games to the end of the season.

The hard-tackling defender credited ‘unity’ and ‘team play’ as the secret behind their success but, was quick to highlight the contribution of the club’s fan base.

Speaking to www.sportscrusader.com  ahead of their crucial tie at home to Dreams FC at the Wa Park, the center-back called for sustained attention from the entire playing staff.

“We are just on top of the league but that does not make us champions yet.

“We can be shocked by clubs behind us because of the compact nature of the standings.

“All we need now, is to clear our minds and stop assuming  we are champions in the last few matches.

“We are still keeping the same hunger that saw us go top of the league with four matches to the end of the season”, Mensah briefed sports crusader.

The centre-back has been a prominent figure at the back for the league leaders due to his versatility, playing across the positions of the back four.

Wa All Stars dispatched New Edubiase by a lone goal to go top of the log with four games to the end of the season.
