GFA Ban Three Clubs


The GFA Executive Committee has temporarily banned King Solomon FC, Tamale Utrecht and Northern Ladies from using their respective home venues with immediate effect.


The decision was taken due to unfortunate incidents that occurred at Kwahu Praso on Match Day 12 between King Solomon FC and Accra Great Olympics played on Sunday, May 22, 2016 and at the Tamale Academy Park between Tamale Utrecht and Berlin FC.


Another incident of violence occurred at Tamale Annex when Northern Ladies hosted Ampem Darkoa Ladies in their Match day 5 game.


The  decision is in accordance with Article 15(2) of the GFA General Regulations which states that “the GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, Match Officials or Spectators cannot be guaranteed”.


The Division One League Board and the Women League Board will determine the venues for the Clubs’ subsequent home matches in accordance with the provisions of Article 15(3) of the GFA General Regulations.


This order is without prejudice to the determination of the case pending before the Disciplinary Committee.

King Solomon Apologise For Fans Barbarism

King Solomon Football Club has rendered an unqualified apology to the Ghana Football Association, referee Azuma and his assistants and the football fraternity for supporters misbehavior towards the officials.







King Solomon FCReferee Azuma and his assistants Ismael Acquah and J.K Abora were physically assaulted at the Kwahu Mpraeso Park by King Solomon supporters. The officials sustained various degrees of injuries, and President of the club has condemned the act.


The club has accepted responsibility and would not shield anyone who is found to be part of the ‘senseless act’.

GN Bank Presents GHS 690,000 To GFA

Sponsors of the Division One League, Groupe Nduome Bank has presented a cheque of 690, 000.00 to the Ghana Football Association to help clubs in the Division One League.


GN Bank accepted the responsibility to sponsor the second flagship domestic club competition last year, and has presented its annual sponsorship package to the football governing body of Ghana.

The cheque was received by Executive Committee member of the Ghana FA, Lawyer Kweku Eyiah on behalf of the FA at the launch of the 2016 season.


The Division One League is expected to start this weekend across all the three Zones in the Division.

GHALCA To Open Nomination Next Month




Ghana League Clubs Association, GHALCA, will open nominations for their elections on 10 March and close on 21 March.


Delegates of the association met at the media centre at the Accra sports stadium to review their activities for the 2015 and provide the roadmap to its elections in April.


The association heads announced that forms will be made available for interested candidates to file their nomination from March 10, whilst the elections itself will be on April 21.


Some members have already made public their intent to wrestle incumbent Chairman, Alhaji Ali Braimah Raji the chairmanship seat, whilst others have not.


Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Gold Sporting Club, who has served as the administrative manager of the association before announced he will throw his hat into the race early this year.


And he will have stiff competition from former Berekum Chelsea Chief executive officer, Nana Oduro Sarfo who is tipped by many to floor Alhaji Raji for his office, Kofi Opoku.


However, current vice chairman Isaac Wilberforce Koomson is yet to make his intent known to the public though he is rumoured to interested in  occupying the office.


Nana Oduro Sarfo believes GHALCA — the welfare body of league clubs is dormant under the leadership of Alhaji Raji and has promised to make the body a viable economic welfare body if given the mandate by delegates as the best man to lead the association to attain its goals.


Kudjoe Fianoo on the other hand believes he is the best man to restructure the association. 


With nomination forms now almost available, interested candidates can will begin their lobbying with delegates to vest their power in them.

Division One League Fixtures To Be Released Tomorrow - Saani Daara

Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Saani Daara has said that the Division One League Board will release fixtures for the season tomorrow (Thursday).


A date for the commencement of the league is scheduled for February 20, but the DOL Board has not released the fixtures for the season.


Clubs are getting frustrated for continued delay of the release of fixtures because it is affecting their preparations for the upcoming season.


But Saani Daara has assured the clubs that the fixtures will be made available tomorrow.


“The Division One League fixtures will be released tomorrow (Thursday),” the  former Choice FM journalist told Accra-based radio station, Happy FM.


“We understand their frustrations but I can assure them that the fixtures will be made available to them tomorrow.” He added.

I Will Help Raise Up - Samudeen Ibrahim

Accra Hearts of Oak new signing, Samudeen Ibrahim has promised fans of the club his input in the team will raise the club to a different level.


Samudeen Ibrahim was signed on Ghanaian transfer deadline day for  reported fee of GHS 60,000.00 from King Solomon FC after a sterling performance in the GN Bank Division One League.


He scored four goals and made eight assists in 38 matches and was voted the Most Valuable Player in the Division One League last season.


Since his move to the Rainbow club,  Samudeen has not lost the opportunity to assure the Phobian fraternity that he has the quality to make a huge impact in the league.


He showed glimpses of what he can offer with great individual and team performance, coupled with a goal against Ifeanyi Ubah in his debut for the 2008/2009 premier league champions, and he has reassured Hearts of Oak fans that the team is ready to return the club to its yesteryear.


“I feel very much excited after playing my first game in the colours of Accra Hearts of Oak,” the former King Solomon FC midfielder told Joy FM.


He added: “I did everything I could and I scored my first a goal on my debut.”


The 19-year old also said he has settled well into the playing body.


“The atmosphere in the training ground is fantastic and it has helped me a lot to settle in the team,” he noted, adding that: “Like i have always said, I don’t often give myself targets but I can say as a team, we are doing our best to take the team from the level it is now to a different level.”


Hearts of Oak  will open their premier league campaign against New Edubiase on February 21.

Samudeen Wants To Make History At Hearts.




Accra Hearts of Oak new signing Samudeen Ibrahim has set a target to become the club’s best player ever to have walked into the dressing room of the club.


Accra Hearts of Oak boast of legends like Mohammed Polo, a player many believe is the best to ever wear the Rainbow colours in their 105 years.


But Division One League Most Valuable Player i hopeful he can do better than what his predecessors did.


“Every football player has a target they dream to achieve that. Accra Hearts of Oak is a club with great history and many great players have played for the club,” the former King Solomon FC youngster told Accra-based radio station, Happy FM.


“My target is to be the greatest player ever in the history of Accra Hearts of Oak. I know i have the qualities to reach the heights of the best players and even do more if I work hard.” He added.


Samudeen Ibrahim scored 4 goals and registered 8 assist in 38 matches in the GN Bank Division One League last season and he is certain he will surpass that achievement at Accra Hearts of Oak, but  his target to help the team archive results.


“The team success is far important than individual glory and I don’t give myself targets when it come to goal scoring but I won’t rule out scoring goals and assisting my colleagues to score. Goal scoring is down to opportunities; if I have the opportunity to score I will, but if there’s the need for me to give for my teammates too, I will,” He said.

I Will Do Better In The GPL - Samudeen Ibrahim




Hearts of Oak new signing, Samudeen Ibrahim has told the Phobians to expect a better Samudeen Ibrahim than the person they saw in last season’s Division One League.


The youngster who scored four goals, registered 8 assists for King Solomon FC last season and was adjudged best playe in the GN Bank Division One League is optimistic of surpassing his exploits.


Ibrahim, 19, signed for Accra Hearts of Oak on transfer deadline day from King Solomon FC for a reported fee of 60,000 Ghana Cedis.


And he has promised the Phobian he will prove he is worth the price.


“Am very much excited to sign for a club like Accra Hearts Of Oak, I know they will be expecting a lot from me but with a little effort I know am going to prove much more than I did in division one,”Samudeen told Joy FM.


“I decided to move to Accra Hearts Oak because it’s a very great club and a club that will give me the platform to showcase my talent.


“For now, I don’t want to promise but am telling all the fans to expect more from me, what they saw in the division, I am going to do much better.” He assured.
