GN Bank DOL Week 8 Review (ZONE 1)

The race for qualification to Ghana’s top flight intensified over the weekend in Zone One of the GN Bank Division One League.







Former Ghana Premier League side, Real Tamale United bounced back from their midweek disappointment to register a 2-1 victory over Steadfast in the Tamale derby.


The victory brings RTU’s campaign back on track as Berlin FC shared the spoils with Tano Bofoakwa at the Ohene Ameyaw Park In Techiman on Sunday.


Earlier on Saturday at the Golden City Park, Berekum Arsenal defeated Bolga All Stars 2-0 while Guan United were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Unity FC.


Elsewhere at the Tamale Stadium Annex, it was B.A. United who got the better of Liberty Babies in a three-goal thriller.


Newly promoted FC Tanga won 1-0 at home to Bawko United whilke Wa Rockets and Mighty Royals were both on the winning side, beating Tamale Utrecht 3-1 and Mpuasoman 1-0 respectively.

GN Bank DOL: Alleged Juju Man Beaten At Techiman

An alleged Juju man, believed to be in his late 30’s was attacked and beaten by fans of Berlin FC during their GN Bank Division One League against Mpuasoman at the Nana Ameyaw Park on Saturday.


The man was accused by fans of the home side, Berlin FC for performing Juju during the game which ended 1-1.


Report say, fans of Berlin FC had earlier been hinted about the man in question and after the game had ended in a draw, they pounced on him to register their displeasure about his presence at the game.


The man was rescued after the intervention of security personnel on duty at the stadium.


Berlin FC were joint leaders of Zone One before the start of MATCH Week Six alongside regional rivals Tano Bofoakwa but after failing to get maximum points on Saturday, the Techiman based side will hop Bofoakwa will stumble at RTU on Sunday.


The 2015/2016 GN Bank Division One League has been marred with crowd troubles since the start and the has resulted in the suspension of coverage by the league’s broadcast partners.
