Huddersfield Town Head Coach Heaps Praises On Elvis Manu

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has lavished praises on Ghanaian striker Elvis Manu after sealing a six month loan deal for the Brighton forward.


The experienced trainer hailed the attacking credentials of his 21 year old Ghanaian striker ahead of a packed season for the championship side.


Huddersfield Town lured Elvis Manu away from Brighton with the promised of extended playing time in the six month deal with the club.


David Wagner lauded the total team work attitude exhibited by Manu after following the exploits of the Ghanaian for a very long time.


The English trainer immediately charged his Ghanaian attacker to confirm his class by salving Huddersfield from their indifferent form in the season.


“I like what I have seen of Elvis in his days at Feyenoord and Brighton. I believe his qualities will fit with our ideas. I am sure he can help out this season.


He also gives me another option in the number seven, eleven and nine slots, which is very important to have for the rest of the season”, David Wagner told reporters on Manu’s arrival.


Manu passed through the ranks of the famous Feyenoord Academy before making a name for himself in the UEFA Champions league in his formative stages with the Dutch side.

Edwin Gyimah Proves Instrumental For Pirates At Home To Ajax Cape Town

Black Stars midfielder Edwin Gyimah steered Orlando Pirates to a vital three points at home to Ajax Cape Town in the South African Professional League (SPL).


The former Wa All Stars defensive screen edged out compatriot Lawrence Lartey in the Ghanaian derby on South African soil.


Gyimah, bagged his 55th appearances in the SPL since joining the SPL from Wa All Stars whiles Lartey registered his fifth straight start of the campaign.


Both players headed into the PSL clash battling relegation but it was the Soweto giants who proved pivotal in a flurry of errors from the Ghanaian duo.


Lartey forced Rivaldo Coetzee into scoring an own goal to put Pirates ahead before Sifiso Myen came off the bench to clinch the three points for the struggling Pirates.


Gyimah equalled the feat of his Ghanaian opponent with a costly mistake en route to the only goal scored by Ajax Cape Town.


The former Wa All Stars robust midfielder played in Prince Nxumalo who drew parity for the visitors before Myeng kept the points with a late strike from the bench.


Pirates usurp Ajax into the 12th place in the PSL standing whiles Ajax drops to 13th, one point behind Pirates on 19.

Lawrence Lartey bebuts for Ajax Cape Town

Ghana Youth international Lawrence Lartey made his long awaited debut for Ajax Cape Town away to Golden Arrows in the South African Premiership.


The 21 year old defender lasted the entire 90 minutes for Ajax as they snatched a well deserved point on the road.


Lartey sealed his dream move to the SPL after leading Ashgold to their first title in almost two decades.


The former Miners defender impressed his new paymasters with his unique reading of the game away to the high flying Arrows.


The 2014/15 FCPPL defender of the season defied the teaming crowd and intimidation from the visitors to unleash his defensive armories on his debut match.


Andile Eugene shot Arrows into an 18th minute lead from the spot only for Frankline Cale to draw parity two minutes later. Arrows missed the chance to join the top four whiles Ajax moves three clear from the drop in the SPL.
