Asante Kotoko-Ifeanyi Ubah Friendly On Wednesday Cancelled

Kotoko will no longer play Nigerian side, Ifeanyi Ubah in the friendly international match that was scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday at 5pm.

Communications Manager, Kwaku  Ahenkorah in a brief chat with the Club’s official website mentioned that, the game, which was being organised by kit sponsors Mafro has been cancelled as its arrangement hit a rough patch at the last minute.

The Porcupines have been playing friendly matches in wait for the season that has been unduly delayed. The team has so far played 11 trial matches faring well not just in terms of performance but also recording impressive wins.

Last Sunday, they posted a confident 2-0 win over Bechem United and expextations are that, they would keep their winning form throughout the league season.

The Ghana Football Association last week announced that, the Premier League will start on February 20 and when it does, Kotoko will certainly be the team to beat.

Stop Changing Kotoko Management At Will - Kotoko Tells Media

Management of kotoko has appealed to the media to pay heed to the admonition given by the Manyhia Palace to stop announcing changes in the leadership of Kotoko at will.

Rumours of a so-called likely change the current Kotoko administration gained so much currency late last year with sections of the media emphatically reporting that the present Kotoko management headed by club legend, Samuel Opoku Nti were on their way out.

But the Owner and Life Patron of Kotoko, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in a press statement issued by his Chef of Staff, Kofi Badu debunked those stories pointing out that, the Manhyia Palace at the right time would come out on the way forward of the club.

Yet in the last few days, some media houses have been back announcing that Opoku Nti has been removed in blatant disrespect of the initial advice from the Palace.

Communications Manager, Kwaku Ahenkorah in an interview with Asantekotokosc.com stressed the need for an end to such reports since they do the club no good.

“We are appealing to our colleagues in the media to desist from such announcements. It’s unhelpful and we request that, they put an end to that by respecting the position of Manhyia Palace as stated in their last press statement” said Ahenkorah.
