The Accra West District Football Association (AWDFA) has set Saturday August 20, 2016 for the commencement of the District’s Third Division League, baring any unforseen circumstances.
The date was agreed upon at an emergency meeting with the clubs at the AWDFA office at Indafa Park in Accra on Tuesday.
The league which was originally scheduled to start in June 2016, was postponed due to the delays in the start of the Greater Accra Regional Division Two League which begun last month.
Following the delay, some clubs in the District have opted out of the 2015/2016 but that has not prevented the District’s football governing body from proceeding with the season’s plans.
SportsCrusader.com can confirm that, more than twelve clubs have confirmed their participation in the league and will be divided into two Zones, A and B with the respective winners battling each other in a one off match to determine who goes through to the middle League.
The Accra West District Football Association’s League Board are set to release the league Fixtures in the coming days for the clubs to have a knowledge of the opposition they will face.
