Mauro Icardi’s future with Inter remains far from certain after reports that Arsenal are in talks with his representatives over a move to north London.
Arsene Wenger is keen to add another striker to his squad this summer, and saw a bid for Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette rejected last week.
In turn, it’s claimed that he will continue to assess different options, with the Nerazzurri giving him hope that he will be able to land Icardi as the Italian giants are monitoring Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, according to Corriere dello Sport.
It is added that the Argentine’s agent and wife, Wanda Nara, could be the representative involved in the talks with the Gunners, as she continues to look for the best solution for the 23-year-old.
Napoli also remain interested in the former Sampdoria striker, and have seen a €70m offer turned down with Inter adamant that their captain is not for sale.
Having scored 16 goals and provided four assists in 33 Serie A games last season, Icardi remains a pivotal part of Roberto Mancini’s squad and both parties will hope to reach a new agreement over a contract to avoid seeing him leave the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this summer.
