To set the records straight, players are selected based on the following parameters:

Sports crusader team of the week returns for the first time in over 8 weeks with new faces making the inaugural edition of the weekly assembled finest players.

Andre Ayew kicked off his season under new manager Roberto Di Mateo with two goals in the preseason friendly for the Aston Villa forward. The 24 year old leads our Team of The Week for his promising start to the 2015/16 season.

Anderlecht duo of Frank Opoku Acheampong and Dennis Appiah earned their place in the SCTOW for their diverse roles in the 1-1 thriller with Red Stars. The duo are joined by club mate Emmanuel Agyei Sowah who graced his debut game for the senior side with impeccable display at the back.

Nigeria based Nana Bonsu mans the sticks for the NPL side to extend his boisterous run in the division.

Adomah, Four Others Nominated For Middlesbrough"s POTM

Promotion chasing Ghanaian attacker Albert Adomah has been nominated for Middlesbrough’s February Player of the Month award.

The Teesiders attacking sensation has been nominated for the club’s most outstanding star performer along side four other colleagues for the February edition of the club’s POTM.

The 28 year old Ghanaian is set to battle Adam Forshaw, Dael Fry, ,Ritchie De Laet and the sensational Gaston Ramirez for the star player in the month of February.

Adomah ended February with one goal and an assist in his four games played to earn his place among the star players for Aitor Karanka’s men at the Riverside.

The Ghana international continues to play starring role for the Championship side with his overall work ethics that transcend beyond goals and assists.

The stoutly built centre forward has so far managed 8 goals across the season with crucial assists to add to his name.

The Riverside fans favourite confirmed his importance to the third place Teesiders with a 90th minute assist to David Nugent in their crucial clash with Hull City which eventually ended 1-0 for Boro.

Middlesbrough remains third on the log but could replace Brighton if they can earn valuable points in their outstanding game.

Albert Adomah Set For A New Manager, As Karanka Nears Exit

Ghanaian striker Albert Adomah is set to play under a new manager in the Championship with the imminent departure of current trainer Aitor Karanka looming.

The Middleborough wide man saw his ambition of returning to the Premiership hit a snag after their Spanish trainer boycotted the team’s official duties on Friday.

Middleborough continued to change places at the top of the log in their quest to qualify for the 2016/17 Premiership, an attitude that has been questioned by their Spanish boss Aitor Karanka.

The former Real Madrid assistant trainer stormed out of an indoor club meeting after raising question marks on the attitude of a number of players and backroom staff.

Reports about an imminent departure have been fueled by an official statement from the Teesiders confirming the unavailability of their trainer since Friday.

Middleborough confirmed Assistant trainer Steve Agnew as the man to take over the first team managerial duties at Charlton on Sunday.

“Middleborough Football Club can confirm that Aitor Karanka did not take training on Saturday morning.

Assistant trainer Steve Agnew will take charge of the team for Sunday’s fixture at Charlton.

We appreciate supporters will want to know further details, but at this time the club cannot make any further comments and is solely focused on Sunday’s game at The Valley”, a official statement from Middleborough reads.

Ghanaian international winger, Albert Adomah exhibited some magnificent stamina on Friday night as Middlesbrough beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 in the Championship, as Boro is looking forward to gain promotion next season.

 

Middlesbrough after a surprise defeat in midweek against Blackburn, had to win against Wolves and once again Albert Adomah showed his class as he was the obvious star in the game

 

Middlesbrough fans on social media and praised the Ghanaian after he was very instrumental to Gaston Ramirez two goals in the match.

 

The Ghanaian was in tremendous form and worked himself to the the bone in an exceptional performance that facilitated the Boro victory.

 

This season has not exactly been plain sailing for Adomah on Teeside. At times he has found himself generally unpopular with both the fans and the manager.

At the moment Adomah is in great form and he will will be very instrumental to Middlesbrough promotion to the English Premier league.

Red Hot Albert Adomah Scores To Send Middlesbrough Four Points Clear At Top Of Championship

Middlesbrough went four points clear at the top of the Championship with a record-breaking win at home to promotion rivals Derby.

Goals from Albert Adomah and George Friend in the last 10 minutes of an entertaining game secured a crucial victory for Aitor Karanka’s in-form side, who are now unbeaten in eight matches.

Boro have also kept nine consecutive clean sheets and eight at home, with goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos breaking a 30-year club record.

It was a lively start to the game and Boro pressed first in the eighth minute. Emilio Nsue found space on the right to cross for Cristhian Stuani, but the Uruguayan headed over and Stewart Downing hit a speculative cross-shot high over the bar two minutes later.

The home side had a glorious chance to take the lead in the 16th minute when Downing found Friend on the edge of the box and he played in Kike, but the Spaniard’s tame shot was parried away by Lee Grant.

Adomah netted in the 83rd minute to send Middlesbrough on their way to a 2-0 win at the Riverside.

Boro forged another chance in the 21st minute after some good build-up work found Adomah on the left wing, but Nsue headed wide his cross at the far post.

Derby created their first chance in the 29th minute when Richard Keogh burst forward down the right and crossed low into the box, but Chris Martin headed wide.

A minute later they went close again, with Johnny Russell breaking into the box and hitting a low shot which Konstantopoulos saved with his legs.

Adomah was next to miss the target for Boro in the 36th minute when he robbed Keogh before racing clear but his drilled shot was well wide.

Boro were enjoying an extended spell of pressure and Grant did well to tip Friend’s powerful shot over the bar after good work by Kike.

Derby started to pressure the hosts as half-time approached and Boro managed to scramble clear just as Russell was about to shoot.

Boro started the second half in the same fashion and continued their search for an opener.

After winning a free-kick 30 yards out, Leadbitter’s effort was deflected wide and moments later Adomah tried an ambitious scissor kick which was well over.

Boro threatened again in the 67th minute when Derby failed to clear a corner and the ball fell to Adam Clayton on the edge of the box, but Keogh did well to block the midfielder’s strong shot.

Downing went close to finding the elusive first goal in the 75th minute when his curling effort flew just wide of Grant’s right-hand post after good work by substitute David Nugent.

The goal finally arrived eight minutes from time after some neat build-up work between Leadbitter and Downing, with the former threading a great ball in behind the back line for Adomah to coolly chip Grant.

The second soon followed when a deflected shot found Nugent and he squared for unmarked Friend to tap in from close range.
