How To Either Avoid Or Come Out Of Burn Out

If constant stress has you feeling disillusioned, helpless, and completely worn out, you may be suffering from burnout. When you’re burnt out, problems seem insurmountable, everything looks bleak, and it’s difficult to muster up the energy to care—let alone do something about your situation.

The unhappiness and detachment that burnout causes can threaten your job, your relationships, and your health. But burnout can be healed. You can regain your balance by reassessing priorities, making time for yourself, and seeking support.

Burnout is a type of psychological stress. Occupational burnout or job burnout is characterized by exhaustion, lack of enthusiasm and motivation, feelings of ineffectiveness, and also may have the dimension of frustration or cynicism, and as a result reduced efficacy within the workplace.

Burnout usually happens when people find no more reason to keep going. The irony of it all is that people think that it’s fine to keep going when their tanks are empty. We need to be refueled because as people, we were designed by God to be filled up.

When we are burnt out, the weight of life seems to get a whole lot heavier. All of a sudden, everything we do is a burden, even the things that you once enjoyed. The saddest part is that when we are burnt out, we forget our way and start losing track of the purpose of God.

If you feel this way and want out starting today, know this: It is not God’s will for you to be burnt out. God desires to see motivated, encouraged and edified people who will bring glory to His name.

how to prevent or avoid burn out

When we get burnt out, we lose morale and we most likely lose our way, but as God comes and fills us up once more with His enabling grace and empowering presence, we are restored and led to the right paths.

Burnout is often the result of self-reliance. The self-reliant take upon themselves the role of savior rather than trusting God to accomplish His own will.

how to prevent or avoid burn out

So what’s the secret to avoiding burnout? There’s no secret really.

The prevention plan for burnout is to rest in Jesus and follow His direction for life.

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30).

It’s as simple as this: Keep yourself filled with the presence of God. Acts 1:8 makes it very clear that we “receive power when the Holy Spirit comes.” Power to be a living testimony of God’s grace and faithfulness and power to bring glory to Christ by serving others.

how to prevent or avoid burn out

God’s presence is the ultimate fuel that keeps us going and we fill ourselves up best when we wait upon Him and seek Him endlessly and tirelessly. Psalm 23:3 promises that God “…restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

Avram Grant Got To Be Tolerant - De-Graft Johnson

Former Sekondi Hasacaas coach, Joseph De-Graft Johnson has called on Ghana Black Stars coach, Avram Grant to learn how to be tolerant with criticisms from Ghanaians.

Grant who has had stints with English Premier League sides, Chelsea and Portsmouth has found life in managing Ghana a tough task to handle as he continually battles the Ghanaian media who have criticized his tactics and team selections.

Mozambique held the Black Stars to a goalless drawn game at the Estadio do Zimpeto in an African Cup of nations qualifier for Gabon 2017 and this got the media question why Ghana will fail to do the double over the minnows and this got the Israeli furious and he used the ‘bulls**t’ word to refer to the media and Ghanaians as a whole.

Johnson who knows how vocal and passionate football fans can be has offered advise to the ex-Chelsea boss saying, “Ghanaians are not talking too much, they can talk as much as they like in this democratic world and this is the beauty of the ‘beautiful game – football’.

Ghanaians should be allowed to share their opinion and that comes along with the package of a national team head coach.”

“You (as a coach) must be able to absorb a lot of varied opinions as a coach as long as it is not derogatory but in the end your opinion (performance on the team) matters,” he added.

Medeama Won"t Sack Strand

Medeama SC is on the crossroads with head coach Tom Strand, but say they won’t sack him.

The 35-year-old has made his displeasure known public after his coaching responsibilities was taken over by Technical Director, Evans Addotey in their two-all stalemate against Asante Kotoko in Kumasi.

He returned to duty for the club’s CAF Confederation Cup tie against Al Ittihad of Libya, and the MTN FA Cup game against Liberty Professionals, but has since refused to attend training sessions.

It is alleged he made certain decisions in the MTN FA Cup tie against Liberty Professionals and was criticized. Tom Strand did not take the criticisms in good faith and his close allies says his attitude is to trigger a sack from Medeama.

But Medeama SC insist he will not be sacked. According to sportscrusader.com sources, the club will rather have him sit at home than let him leave.

They have also promised no amount of money will convince them to release Strand to suitors. The club has warned him against resigning from the post.

Clubs sources says that the club do not owe Tom Strand and his attitude is only pushing them to react, but they will not.

Why Kotoko Turned Down Signing Nathaniel Asamoah

Kumasi Asante Kotoko turned down the opportunity to resign Nathaniel Asamoah reports from the club have said.

Nathaniel Asamoah, had a sensational season last year with Medeama SC prior to his move to Raja Casablanca in Morocco, but he is clubless after his deal with the Moroccan side was terminated.

A sports journalist suggested to Kotoko to sign him to boost their attacking front, but Coach David Duncan turned down the opportunity.

According to sportscrusader.com sources the said journalist brought in three players to the club during the last transfer market, but none of them has lived up to Duncan’s expectations.

The said journalist according to sources wants to make up for giving the recruitment team players who have failed woefully, but David Duncan insisted that Nathaniel Asamoah was not part of his plans and he will therefore not include him in his team.

Weightlifting President Refutes Allegation By Arko

The President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF), Ben Nuno Mensah has refuted  allegations by Juliana Arko that the GWF maltreated her during the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.

Mr Mensah has expressed his disappointment towards the comments made by the  multiple medal winner  towards the GWF who according to him was massively supported by both the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and the GWF with regards to her preparations towards the Youth Olympics

In an interview with sportscrusader.com, Mr Mensah said ” the  athlete (Juliana) was given a sum of 800 Ghana Cedis by the federation with the GOC giving her the tickets and other logistical support which enabled her to participate in the tournament”.

Mr Mensah also emphasized that a meeting was held last year between the National Sports Authority and the GWF where Arko apologized for her actions back in China.

“We encouraged her to join her colleagues in training after the tournament in China but she didn’t show up,” Mr Mensah said.

“I am very surprised as to her recent allegations, she claimed her Per Diem of 1000 Ghana Cedis  has not being paid, but the GWF is not responsible for paying such monies,” he added.

Transfer Rumour: Mourinho Wants Higuain At United

Manchester United could be about to go head-to-head with Arsenal in the race to sign Gonzalo Higuain, according to Football Insider, via the Daily Star.

It has been alleged that United will make a mammoth £74million bid if Jose Mourinho takes over as boss at the end of the season.

The Napoli striker has reportedly been wanted by Arsenal for some time but Mourinho will want to bring in a world class striker should he take over as manager.

Higuain has scored 29 goals in 30 Serie A games this season, leading Napoli’s title charge, but has made no indication that he wants a move yet.

Avram Grant - The Gentle Soul Bigger Than Himself

Frank Acheampong, John Boye and Jordan Ayew nailed Mozambique on Thursday March 24 at the Accra Sports Stadium in an AFCON 2017 qualifier, clearing the path further for yet another Africa Cup campaign next year.

It was not a victory over Egypt, Nigeria or Cote d’Ivoire, but it was a win over Mozambique — a side who have felt the ambience of Africa Cup of nations four times, a side whose best place finish in the continent’s flagship football competition is the first round, and a side ranked 100th in the FIFA Coca-Cola rankings.

But on the touchline, Avram Grant shouted ‘yes!’ within. “I have just gotten the perfect ammunition to strike back at these dullards.”

And he didn’t miss the opportunity to throw the punch at the perfect ground. With a grin, the Israeli told Ghanaians to concentrate on football and not the bulls**it at the post-match press conference.

Where else would have been the perfect avenue to tell Ghanaians I need your 50,000 dollars but I don’t care what you say.

Where else would have been the perfect avenue for Avram Grant to tell Ghanaians they don’t know what they are talking about? And where else would have been the perfect avenue for Avram Grant to remind Ghanaians that I am bigger than your country?

He took his opportunity without mincing words. Ghanaians called for the earth to break lose, but some members of the Ghana FA said it is ‘normal’ in his culture. It is preposterous and crass.

What is more bullshit than giving your employer three weeks and he spends almost 100 days? What is bullshit than earning more than the president of the land sit on TV taking about the potential next Chelsea manager at the expense of what your employers want from you?

I would like to work at Avram Grant’s company where his workers overstay their leave, but still earn their salary and come back for a beautiful smile.

I would like to work at Grant’s company where I will deliver my first assignment on my return, and tell him to concentrate on my work and not the “bullshit”.

And I would like to work in Grant’s company where I will be coaxed to apologize and I will withdraw my comments without apologizing and also rephrase my earlier comments — replacing bullshit with ‘unnecessary things.’

What are the unnecessary things?

Hello Mr Grant, I know you’re aware, but this is just a reminder, Milovan Rajevac managed the local Black Stars and led them to the final of of the inaugural CHAN competition, Milovan Rajevac managed a depleted Black Stars squad at AFCON 2010 in Angola, and Ghana were in the final, Milovan Rajevac led Ghana to the first ever World Cup on Africa soil, and Ghana were ranked the 5th best country in the tournament.

But he was never a demigod, he brought the current players you can’t replace, but he was never our messiah. And never said he was.

You played in the  finals of the most prestigious club football in Europe, and no one disputes that, but after that, you were in Thailand. You lobbied for the job to return to the limelight of football management and if you feel you’re big, you are only bigger than yourself.

This El- Clasico Didn"t Come At The Right Time - Iniesta

Barcelona midfield supremo Andres Iniesta has described the upcoming El -Clasico which is slated for this Saturday as not ideal as some players are not yet back from the international break.

In a press conference after Wednesday training session the midfielder told reporters that “of course [playing El Clásico after the international break] it’s not the ideal situation, it’s not the best to not be able to have players back until Thursday or Friday, but it’s a normal situation when there are international breaks”.

The 31  year old also emphasized that many times the Clasico has coincided with internationals.

” it’s not the best scene, but those who’ve been with their national teams have been competing, while those that have stayed here have been recovering. It is what it is, there’s nothing more to it,” – he added.

Barcelona are nine points clear off their rivals and a win on Saturday will cement their grasp on the La Liga tittle.

Christian Atsu Returns To Full Training With Malaga

Ghana midfielder Christian Atsu has returned to full scale training with his side Malaga, after missing the Black Stars second leg qualifiers with Mozambique, last week.

The injury prone wing wizard returned to his La Rosaleda based club, after complaining of discomfort on his thigh, but has since started full scale training with his club team mates.

The 24 year old on loan to Chelsea has enjoyed mixed fortunes since his arrival in Spain during the winter break but a return to fitness will boost his chances of pocketing some precious playing time when the international break ends.

The talented forward was spotted happily undertaking routine shake up with Javi Gracia’s men at the La Rosaleda training annex after his return from the Black Stars camp.

The 2015 AFCON Most Valuable Player has seen his promising career take a nosedive since trading the Estadio Dragao in Portugal for the deafening Stand Ford Bridge in England.

The one time FC Porto fan’s favourite has since been shipped out on loan to Vittese Arnheim, Everton, AFC Bournemouth and Malaga since arriving in London in the summer of 2013.

Clubs Have Lost Confidence In GHALCA - Kofi Poku

Division One League Clubs representatives at the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kofi  Poku, has said members of the Association have lost confidence in the welfare body.

According to Poku, the Association has done nothing to show to clubs that, they are registered members of the body and have their interest at heart.

He added that, if he was given the mandate to chair the affairs of the Association, the league clubs will feel the presence of GHALCA, not just as a welfare body but beyond issues of welfare.

“Clubs have lost confidence in GHALCA because we have not done anything. If you look at it critically, just about a few clubs gain from GHALCA. Only clubs that participate in the Top-4 competition, Presidents’ Cup or G-6 tournament, earn something from GHALCA, but we have many clubs in this country who are left out,” the MTN FA Cup Committee vice chairman told sportscrusader.com.

“The lower division clubs have not benefited anything from GHALCA and what I intend to do if elected as chairman, is that if not all clubs, majority of the teams must have the feel that this is an Association they belong to,” he said.

“I want clubs in this country  to be a part of GHALCA, not just one or two clubs,” he added.

Cudjoe Fianoo Confident Ashgold Will Bounce Soon

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ashgold SC, Cudjoe Fianoo is confident his side will put aside their slow start to the season and bounce back very soon.

The experienced football administrator blamed the reigning GPL Champions slow start on the abortive CAF Champions League campaign.

The former FA Executive committee member, fired a verbal warning to their local rivals to be wary of a new Ashgold in the following weeks, as they have intensified the defence of their hard earned crown.

“This season, we started with a divided attention. We had our focus on the CAF Champions League and the Premiership and it took a toll on us.

“Now that we are out of the CAF Champions League, we redirecting our focus on the Premiership and despite the seemingly slow start, we have the materials to bounce back in style.

“We started slowly but we are one of the three teams to scale Week-5 without a defeat,” Cudjoe Fianoo told sports crusader.

Ashgold stormed the 2014/15 FCPPL in a sizzling manner to end an almost 20-year old wait for domestic silverware but has since won one of its opening five league matches played in the current campaign.

The miners failed to skip past the first hurdle in the CAF Champions league qualifications at the hands of Algerian side OM Bejaia.

GHALCA Needs Transparency - Isaac Koomson

Vice chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Isaac Wilberforce Koomson says the Association needs transparency to operate efficiently.

Mr Koomson is in the race to become chairman of the mother body of all league clubs in Ghana, and he believes he has the credentials to be the face that will lead the body.

VGMA Must Reconsider Their Decision On Ghanaian Gospel

Ghanaian gospel music icon, Kwaku Gyasi has expressed his dissatisfaction and disappointment in the board of the VGMA for scrapping the Album of the Year category from this year’s awards.

The ‘Ayeyi’ hitmaker who was in a close interview with seancitygh.com said he does not understand why the Gospel Album of the Year was not included in the nominations this year. He therefore advised the board to reconsider their decision and come back again.

He again said he is now about to release his new album dubbed, ‘Ayeyi Mmere’ which contains twelve hit songs that will qualify for next year’s awards.

“VGMA board should not scrap the Gospel Album of the Year category. They should reconsider their decision and come back again. Because this year is going to be very interesting in the gospel industry talking about bringing out powerful albums. I am going to bring out an album myself titled, Ayeyi Mmere with twelve hit songs. I strongly believe that most of the songs on the album are going to be hit. They should wait for my new album and see.”

Kwaku Gyasi’s statement follows a decision from the board of the VGMA, the ultimate award scheme in Ghana that they have scrapped the Gospel Album of the Year category from this year’s awards because after hours and days of scrutiny, none of the gospel albums submitted contained hit songs that qualified for an album of the year award.

Several gospel singers have come out to register their displeasure about the decision with some calling it undermining their hard earned job.

Ghanaian Youngster Amida Brimah To Test NBA Draft Waters

Young Ghanaian Basketball sensation, Amida Brimah is set to test the NBA draft waters in May this year.

Brimah, a University of Connecticut’s 7-foot junior center, has declared for the 2016 NBA draft, according to a report by Yahoo! Sports.

The 22-year old product of the Wesley Grammar School in Accra will not hire an agent and has the ability to pull out of the draft and retain his collegiate eligibility until May 25.

He can work out for NBA teams in the interim and hope for an invite to the NBA draft combine, which ends on May 15.

Brimah is not expected to be a first-round draft pick and probably won’t be a second-round pick, either.

And even if he does get selected in the second round, he almost certainly won’t get guaranteed money.

Teams don’t have to guarantee money to second-round picks, though sometimes do.

The Boston Celtics, for instance, gave guaranteed money to LSU center Jordan Mickey after taking him in the second round last year.

Deliverance From Demonic Oppression

https://youtu.be/K_PzPgI95aA

A recent story from the United Kingdom is raising questions about the belief in evil spirits and their activities.

According to the Mirror, The Kingdom Church in south London was fined for holding loud prayer services in the middle of the night. Bishop Climate Irungu explained the services are necessary because “that’s when demons are active.”

He’s received a lot of hate mail from people who mock him for those beliefs.

Jahan Berns is an attorney who says demonic activity is all too real. She knows because she’s lived through it and was delivered by Jesus Christ.

“It was such a terrible feeling to wake up in a sweat, very afraid, much traumatized, and it messed up my mind to the point that I could not really focus in school,” Berns said.

“And I had very poor grades, and I was always very sick. So yes, demons are very real, and they oppress people,” she said.

CBN News interviewed Berns and her pastor from Uganda, Edward Baleke, via Skype. They talked about how the power of Jesus Christ can set people free.

Is There A Limit To Christian Sex Rules?

When it comes to sex, most married Christians just do what works for them. If they have been blessed enough to have discovered something that brings satisfaction, pleasure, closeness, and climax, they most likely will continue that practice. However, some are plagued with guilt because they wonder if what they’re doing is sinful.

There’s been many, many questions from Christian couples who want to know what is and what is not okay to do sexually. Unfortunately, churches tend to ignore this issue, small groups usually don’t talk about sex, and most Christian books deal with more “spiritual” ideas.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a list of sexual practices categorized by “sinful” or “okay”? Is there such a list? Would everyone agree with the list? Is there a solution to this dilemma?

We think the answers to those questions are: yes, no, no, and probably not—in that order. We’d really like to create such a list that could settle once and forever the niggling doubts about sexual practices. But that’s not possible. Different communities of Christians have different understandings about sexual practices that are based on a few general biblical principles. No list would be accepted by all Christians. Still, we do want to provide some guidelines that we hope will help you enjoy the gift of your sexuality to the fullest. That’s what we’re convinced God wants for each of his children.

We doubt that God’s surprised by the intensity of our sexual desire or of its fulfillment. Seeing us enjoy the passion and pleasure seems to fit with his creative nature. If it were not so He would not have said, “IT IS NOT GOOD FOR MAN TO BE ALONE- (see Genesis 2:18).” There are some definite boundaries, however, that were identified through his Word. These are established to protect and enhance the maximum enjoyment of the gift.

First, we’d like to point out the obvious—the Bible is not a manual on sexual technique. We’ve heard some people say that Song of Solomon describes acceptable sexual positions and behavior. We see it as a poetic love song that clearly embraces the joy of sexual play. We don’t think it is an attempt to outline any specific sexual practices.

Second, we want to emphasize again that there are some specific sexual behaviors that are forbidden in scriptures. Adultery, that is having sexual intercourse with another person’s spouse or a partner other than your own spouse, is a sin. Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, deepens the importance of marital faithfulness by extending the prohibition of infidelity to include a lustful thought life as well as the physical act of intercourse. Looking into our minds and hearts is an important principle for safeguarding the delights of intimacy.

The missionary position or man-on-top position is the most generally sex position in which a woman lies on her back and a man lies on top of her while they face each other and engage in sexual intercourse or other sexual activity.

The missionary position may involve sexual penetration or non-penetrative sex (for example, intercrural sex), and its penile-vaginal aspect is an example of ventro-ventral (front-to-front) reproductive activity.[4] Variations of the position allow varying degrees of vaginal tightness, clitoral stimulation, depth of penetration, participation on the part of the woman, and the likelihood and speed of orgasm.

Origin: It is commonly believed that the term missionary position arose in connection to Christian missionaries, who supposedly encouraged the sexual position to new converts in the colonial era. However, the term probably originated from Alfred Kinsey’s Sexual Behavior in the Human Male through a confluence of misunderstandings and misinterpretations of historical documents. Tuscans refer to the position as the Angelic position while some Arabic-speaking groups call it the manner of serpents.

The Shield Of Faith || Spiritual Warfare Series

Your shield of faith (Hebrews 11:16)

Faith is described as a shield in the Bible.

The Roman Shield, or Scrutum, was made from bonded wood strips and covered with leather. The shield was not flat but semi-circular so that any missiles thrown at the soldier would be deflected to one side. Iron or brass rims fitted along the edges of the shied, and a leather strap fastened to the back. The shield had a metal projection in the center (The boss or umbo) which was used to stun or wind an opponent, easing the soldier’s subsequent strike with his sword. For this reason, the shield was both a defensive tool and an offensive weapon.

shield of faith ||Spiritual warfare series

Faith brings powerful results, for when faith is joined with the results of the Word in your mind, heart, and life, you can withstand the onslaught of the enemy and render the enemy’s fiery darts ineffective.

What is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

The things hoped for must be God’s will. If they don’t line up with God’s will, then He didn’t place them on our heart.

The substance of things hoped for

5287 hupostasis (hoop-os’-tas-is); a setting under (support),

This is something real that God wants to give us. It has substance. but we presently see it only by faith.

shield of faith ||Spiritual warfare series
A.W. Tozer said: “Faith is seeing the invisible, but not the nonexistent.”

The evidence of things not seen.

By faith we know that God will give us what He has placed in our hearts.

Faith is a gift of God. He’s given us the desires, the things hoped for, then we begin to pray and wait on Him.

1.We pray fervently, because we have a great desire for the things hoped for. God doesn’t honor lukewarm hearts.

2.We pray with perseverance. We know God wants us to have these things hoped for, and we will not give up.

3.We pray until God floods our hearts with faith. Until He gives us the assurance that the things hoped for are ours.

shield of faith ||Spiritual warfare series

It is essential to pray through, to receive that assurance from God. It is the proof that God will give the things hoped for. It is the evidence of things not yet seen.

People praying for forgiveness and salvation often stop short of the assurance from God. Then they have doubts about their salvation.

People praying about desires God has given them often stop short of receiving the assurance or “evidence” from God. Then they soon have doubts about the things hoped for. Was it a desire given by God, or just my desire? Did God really call me, or is it just what I want?

When we have the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of the things not seen, then we have what we are hoping for. We are certain it is ours, even though it hasn’t arrived yet. We wait in expectation.

The whole process of faith is greatly enhanced by the Word of God. God often gives us those desires or “things hoped for” through the Word of God. God also often gives us the “evidence” or proof from the Word as well.

Faith pleases God

By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews11:5-6)

Living by Faith

Hebrews 11:6 – Those who please God, (bring joy to His Heart) live by faith.

1 John 5:4 – this is our deliverance, our victory that overcomes the world, our FAITH. Our faith is upon the Word of God, HIS PROMISES to us – Romans 10:17 “faith comes by hearing and the hearing (of faith) by the Word of God.”

Novak Djokovic Into Last Four Of Miami Open

World number one Novak Djokovic extended his winning run over Tomas Berdych to 10 matches with a straight-sets win at the Miami Open.

The top seed won their quarter-final 6-3, 6-3 and will next face Belgian David Goffin.

Djokovic had treatment on his back in the second set, but asked about the issue he told BBC Sport: “No concerns, not at all.”

The 28-year-old is trying to win his sixth Miami title and third in a row.

It is three years since Berdych earned one of only two wins over Djokovic in 24 meetings – and again it was the Serb who dominated.

DDJJJIn blustery conditions, Djokovic broke twice in the first set and he took control of the second after Berdych followed a woeful smash with a double fault.

The only alarm came when he called the trainer, but Djokovic resumed in the same dominant form and sealed victory with another service break.

“I was trying to find the rhythm on the serve,” he said. “Evidently we both struggled with that.

“The swirly conditions on the court were quite tough. Once you toss the ball you can’t predict where it’s going to end up.

“That’s why I had a little bit of a spasm in the back but Paul from the ATP did a great job.”

Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka remain on course for the Indian Wells-Miami double, after both won in California two weeks ago.

kerberTwo-time Miami champion Azarenka, who reached the semi-finals with a 6-4 6-2 win over Britain’s Johanna Konta, will play German second seed Angelique Kerber on Thursday.

“I still feel that I’m far from my best and that’s what’s really exciting for me, to be motivated, to keep improving,” said Azarenka.

Kerber impressed in a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of American Madison Keys, setting up a rematch with Azarenka after she beat the Belarusian on her way to winning the Australian Open in January.

“She had a great start of the year, of course,” said Kerber. “She is on fire, I think, right now.”

The Essence Of Easter Monday Celebration

In our part of the world, Ghana to be precise, the year if filled with so many holidays. Holiday celebration is one thing that one just can take their mind of. In my own opinion I’d say,

if  a census were to be conducted sorting out the views of individuals as to how many days they would love to have a holiday out their working days I’m certain 90% would say ‘at least two to three holidays in a week’. The other 10% would be those with weird desires”

Easter, is just one of those seasons in the Christian framework where believers around gather in a holy fashion in commemorating the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, His agonal death and the triumphant resurrection from the grave after three days of crucifixion on the mount, Golgotha.

This holy season starts on a Friday, stretching through to Sunday, which marks His resurrection, with the populated name, “Resurrection Sunday”.

In Ghana, the Monday that follows is a national holiday. During this day, many spend time with family members, with the most populated and preferred choice of hangout being the beach.

But no so for the Action Chapel family. With such euphoria feeling the atmosphere as Christian families gathered at one location, Action Chapel International, Spintex Road, with reference to the bible quotation of Psalm 133 (KJV) which declares;

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

It cannot be said that harmony, love, peace and the bond of unity was sensed in the atmosphere. The gathering was filled with fun packed activities. All sort of games were made available for both children and adults to involve themselves in.

From train riding, horse riding, chess, soccer, video games and many more. With an exclusive cultural dance performance straight down the Volta Region.

FIFA Responds To Damning Reports On Working Conditions In Qatar

Football’s world governing body, Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) says it is “fully aware” of working conditions in Qatar leading up to the 2022 World Cup.

On Thursday, FIFA responded to a damning report by human rights watch group Amnesty International, which read, in part, “The abuse of migrant workers is a stain on the conscience of world football.”

The Amnesty International report was condemning alleged migrant worker abuses at World Cup construction sites.

One FIFA official said in a statement, “Many challenges remain, but we are on the right track and committed to continue improving, to further contribute to the protection of workers’ rights.”

“You cannot have a major sporting event like the World Cup, the world’s largest sporting event, happening based and completely built on daily exploitation. That’s simply unacceptable,” Amnesty International’s Secretary General Salil Shetty told Press TV.

The working conditions in Qatar have been criticized ever since the oil-rich country won the bid to host the 2022 World Cup.

“You live in a room with eight, 10, 12 other men. The cooking facilities are absolutely unhygienic. … It’s a life of squalor. You are trapped in Qatar,” International Trade Union Confederation’s Sharan Burrow told ESPN.

In 2010, when the country won the 2022 World Cup bid, Qatar said it intended to spend $200 billion in preparation. Officials said multiple stadiums, hotels and transportation outlets would be built.

While the exact migrant worker death toll due to World Cup construction is tough to come by, both The Guardian and The Washington Post suggest worker deaths have skyrocketed since construction began.

10 Habits To Improve Your Bible Study

There are various ways that God speaks to us, but the most common way is through His Word, so to grow in Bible reading and Bible study will help us listen to God better as we talk to Him through prayer.

God’s Word is His voice.

There is no substitute for partnering with God’s Spirit to bring life to His Word. It is only through the Holy Spirit that we find inspiration and revelation through the Bible. Remember, the Holy Spirit is the custodian of the Word of God;

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26

Here are 10 simple practices that will help improve our Bible study.

1. Genuinely view Scripture as God speaking to you, thus it is relevant and has complete authority over you.

10 Habits To Improve Your Bible Study

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

2. Find a good time to study.

10 Habits To Improve Your Bible Study7

Are you a morning person or an evening person? Personally, I have the most mental clarity in the morning,  but you may be different. Maybe you’re a night owl, and enjoy staying up late. Study God’s Word during the time of day you’re most likely to be able to concentrate on the Text.

3. Isolate yourself (Find a good place to study)

10 Habits To Improve Your Bible Study

Also, when you study, make sure you’re alone. It is difficult to pay attention to anything when people are around. Most preachers have a “study” in which to study, while other people don’t have that luxury. But you can still find a place that is away from everybody else, such as a bedroom, closet, an unused room or quiet park.

Matthew 14:23 shows us how Jesus would spend time with the Father: “And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray.” Isolation takes out all hindrance and helps us focus on God’s leading voice.

4. Make it regular.

10 Habits To Improve Your Bible Study

Christians are to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). “Without ceasing,” (adialeiptós) means frequently, regularly, and without any unnecessary time gap. In other words, your prayer life shouldn’t be sporadic and infrequent. Yet, prayer is just how we speak to God. Shouldn’t we let God speak to us at least as frequently as we speak to Him? Christians should “study without ceasing.” Just as you wouldn’t go a day without eating, you shouldn’t go a day without studying. Study a minimum of once a day, and get serious about it.

5. Meditate on the Word.

10 Habits To Improve Your Bible Study8

Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.”

Meditation calls for us to be still and listen to God’s voice as we reflect upon His Word and learn how we can apply it in our daily life.

Ex-Ghana Coach Claude Le Roy To Take Charge Of Kenya

Frenchman Claude le Roy is on the verge of being named the next Coach of Kenya’s national football team, the Harambee Stars, according to Kenyan media outfit Daily Nation Sport.

This follows a series of meetings between the highly successful french tactician and Football Kenya Federation, President Nick Mwendwa in Nairobi early this week.

Sources privy to the meeting confirmed that the duo had discussed at length the “Harambee Stars situation”.

“He is available, with an impressive CV and wants to come to Kenya. I believe the remaining bit is to try and meet his demands,” Daily Nation source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed.

When contacted, Mwendwa confirmed he had settled on Le Roy, but was awaiting approval from the Government, who will be paying his salary.

“He is one of the coaches that have done a good job wherever they have been. He is available right now and we see this as a good chance,” Mwendwa said.

Le Roy, who is coming in with his personal assistant and fitness coach, is set to take charge of a bloated technical bench, as well as a team struggling to perform at any level in recent years.

Reports suggest current Stars coach Stanley Okumbi will be relegated to assistant coach alongside Musa Otieno, with Frank Ouna handed a special role as statistics collector and analyst.

The news of Le Roy’s impending appointment have excited several stakeholders, including Sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario, Stars captain Victor Wanyama and Cecafa Secretary General Nicholas Musonye.

In a press conference after Wednesday training the 32 year old said, “I would say, especially this time, that we don’t take the game on in a different way. These games are different. It doesn’t matter how the sides go into them, whether in better or worse shape”.

The skipper also emphasized how difficult the game will be, but they are focused on doing things well as this match-up is essential for them getting closer to our objective, but they have respect for their rivals.

“There’s not long to go in the league and we can take another step forward, but we will not take on the game looking at the points difference. We will just be thinking about another game,” he added.

16-Toothless Ghana Premier League Clubs

The top flight football in the country, the Ghana Premier league (GPL) can boast of 16-teams but same can’t be said of their confidence to stake a claim when it comes to seeking the commitment of the welfare of the various teams from the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

It’s mind boggling how teams in Ghana solely rely on the GFA for sponsorship money to help run their day-to-day affairs.

New Edubiase United had threaten to withdraw participation from the league after week three of the GPL, and, this has once again proven to be another false alarm from a Ghana Premier league side.

Majority of the blame in terms of how the club’s would have benefited from ensuring that the GFA managed the league well can be laid at the doorstep of the two most glamorous clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko – glamorous we will discuss later.

A strong statement of intent from Hearts and Kotoko as to the commencement of 2015/16 sponsor-less league would have awaken the GFA who appear to be sleeping on the job in terms of seeking sponsorship for their own flagship product- the league.

The two biggest clubs in Ghana have failed themselves and the remaining 14-clubs and this has been perceived as a trump card for the GFA to have a jolly ride with these clubs.

The GFA is yet to retrieve the remaining amount of monies owned it from the Glo sponsorship deal which collapsed a couple of seasons ago and have done little in terms of the current wrangling with 2014/15 season headline sponsor, First Capital Plus Bank now Capital Bank to win back what is theirs.

Members of the football governing body, were denied bonuses after Black Stars victory over Mozambique last week.

The meeting is expected to find solutions to some of the disagreements over certain policies and directives since the new minister took over at the ministry.

It would be recalled that the Sports Minister told management of the senior national team to convince him to pay them bonuses after the victory over Mozambique.

Some officials wants the Executive Committee members of the association to respect the sports minister’s decision, but others will meet and explained why they deserve they deserve bonuses.

Pep Guardiola Won"t Find It Easy In England

Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Pep Guardiola to be a success in England, but insists he won’t find it easy.

Guardiola is set to replace Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City this summer and United legend Ferguson believes it will be the hardest job he has done.

The Spaniard enjoyed unprecedented success with Barcelona before moving to Bayern Munich, where he is on the verge of winning his third straight Bundesliga title.

Ferguson praised Guardiola’s coaching ability and work ethic, but said the 45-year-old could be in for a shock.

“Well Pep has got a fantastic work ethic about him,” he told Sky Sports. “And he demands that from all his training sessions. So anyone who says they’re not going to work hard won’t last long I’m sure of that.

“He has got great coaching ability there’s no doubt about that. It’s interesting because it’ll be difficult to match what he did at Barcelona.

“Obviously Man City have had a real coup in getting him because he’s an outstanding coach, but Pep won’t find it easy. English football is not easy. Every foreign coach who has come to England will tell you that.

“Arsene Wenger, after a few months [of arriving], he was talking about that. Even Jose we he came, after his first season he realised what he achieved was hard work.

“So, he will be a success I don’t think he’ll ever replicate what he ever did at Barcelona but that was a high standard. They were the best.”

I Have Not Resigned From Medeama- Tom Strand

Under Fire Medeama SC trainer, Tom Strand has debunked rumours that he has handed in his resignation letter to the management of the Tarkwa based club, insisting that he’s happy at the club despite mounting reports linking him with a move to Kotoko.

The 33-year-old has in recent times not been spotted on the bench on Medeama and the Swede did not travel with the team to Berekum for the outstanding Premier League fixture against Chelsea on Wednesday.

The recent absence of the young trainer fueled speculations that he wants out of the club, with some reports indicating that officials of Asante Kotoko had held ‘secret talks with the European tactician.

Both Medeama and Asante Kotoko have publicly come out to deny the stories, but coach Tom Strand in an interview has confirmed that the reason for his absence while reaffirming his commitment to the club.

“I have not resigned from Medeama. I have not said anywhere that I have resigned,” he said

“I had malaria but now I’m getting better. I have no plans of leaving the club.I have a contract and plans to respect that till the end.

“Please people should disregard the so-called resignation reports.” Strand added.

Strand is expected to return to the dugout ahead of the side’s home game against Bechem United on Sunday.

Is Kotoko Ready For A Long Season?

It’s been five weeks into the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season, but the wounds at Kotoko are older than we think.

The Porcupine Warriors have won only one game in their five league matches season — their worst run in 42 years, and the fans are angry at the situation.

A section of the Kotoko fraternity wants head coach David Duncan sacked, whilst others have called for the sacking of Opoku Nti and his administration.

The season is young for Kotoko not to achieve their dreams, but the target is far from reach, as board and management members have become mice and cats.

The politics within the club is sky high and the level of internal scheming to have certain individuals fail at their duties will crumble the team more. There’s a growing distrust between technical team and players.

Some senior members of the playing body have lost respect for management and vice versa.

It is alleged that some of the players are branded enemies of the current administration, whilst others are tagged hunch back of schemers who wants Opoku Nti replaced.

Management of the club were given GHS 15,000.00 for the team’s first two games of the season, but the money was allegedly misused and can’t be accounted for.

About eight (8) players are unhappy with the way the team is divided and that there’s lack of confidence. The scheme to sack David Duncan is on high too, though the decision makers insist he will not replaced.

Will players drawn into accusations and counter-accusations between management and board, technical team and management, Kotoko’s early season fears could grow deeper than initially feared.

From all indications, the internal troubles seem to be far from over and might continue if steps are not taken to reverse the negative trend.

Without this, then the club must be prepared to undergo a long and unpleasant season.

Weightlifting: GWF Maltreated Me In Nanjing- Juliana Arkoh

Ghana’s female Weightlifting sensation, Juliana Arkoh has accused the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF) of maltreatment during the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.

According to the multiple medal winner, she was not in the right frame of mind prior to the games and did not even want to travel with the team due to the way officials of the sports’ governing body in Ghana treated her.

Speaking on Sports24 TV, on Wednesday, Juliana revealed that the leadership of the GWF never considered her welfare as an athlete, but were only interested in using her to win laurels for the country.

“It [the Nanjing Youth Olympics] was my first time and it was great. But before I got to the games, emotionally I was so much disturbed, so I was not in a good mood”, she said.

Speaking on why she wasn’t in a good mood, Juliana noted that: “I have passed through a lot of maltreatment from the Weightlifting Federation, so I did not want to go to the Olympics.

“They [GWF] lured me and told me that all monies owed me in the past will not be given to me if I don’t go because it is the International Olympic Committee which is going to pay me the money since all the tournaments I went were prior to the Olympic Games.

”I didn’t believe them because they have lied to me on several occasions. So I went there I wasn’t in any good mood” Juliana added.

But the GWF failed to honour their promises in China, according to the young weightlifter.

“The leader of the delegation [In China], Arko Dadzie, a commander from the Ghana Airforce told me nothing was going to be paid and they are not going to pay any per diem, but we are all going to play and come back to Ghana.

“That got me mad and decided to report the matter to the IOC Office in Nanjing and the IOC took me back to our camp.

“I was handed over to the leader of the team and he nearly tore me into pieces. He asked me and my coach to pack and travel back to Ghana but I refused because I knew they were going to dent my image to the media.

“The people walking to me had to come in to solve the issue before I was allowed back in the team camp” Juliana Arko narrated.

Franklin Graham Urges Prayer In Advance Of Moscow Summit On Persecuted Church

The prominent evangelical leader and head of Samaritan’s Purse was encouraging Christians to pray for a major conference to be held in Moscow this autumn.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) are to bring together around 1,000 Christian leaders for a summit conference on the persecuted Church.

The World Summit in Defense of Persecuted Christians will bring together leaders from more than 50 countries and the conference will address what organisers say is “the mass persecution of Christians in the Middle East, Africa and other regions of the world, which is unprecedented in modern history”.

ROC head Patriarch Kirill has previously spoken out about the persecution of Christians and it was a theme of the statement released by him and Pope Francis after their historic meeting in Havana in February.

It has also been a frequent theme of Franklin Graham, who believes evangelicals and the ROC share common social values and can work together on many issues. He noted approvingly in a Facebook post yesterday Kirill’s statement in a February 16 interview: “I strongly believe that we should work together in order to save our society from de-Christianization – because, facing increasing atheistic pressure, which has become quite aggressive in some countries, Christians are being squeezed out of public life.”

Of the conference, Graham says: “No Church in modern history has suffered more than the Church in Russia. In the years under Communist rule, virtually all of the priests, pastors, and church leaders in Russia were imprisoned or executed by the Communists, and their graves are on the outskirts of Moscow and throughout the country serving as a reminder. So Moscow will be a fitting and meaningful location for this much-needed summit.”

He also refers to warnings from Prince Charles that “Christianity might be entirely erased from the land of its birth in the Middle East within five years” and says the summit will “shed a global spotlight on this crisis”.

The event will take place from October 28-30.

Grant"s Bull S**t Is Aimed At His Employers

Football administrator, Abbey Pobee has mentioned that Black Stars head coach, Avram Grant’s Bull s**t comment is aimed at his employers and not Ghana has a whole.

The Former Chelsea boss has come under immense pressure with his post match interview after Ghana drew goalless with Mozambique in the reverse fixture of the Group G African Cup of Nations qualifier clash in Maputo.

Grant in his post presser conference said, “If this nation will concentrate on football and not the bull***t, and just the football. Because there is a lot of passion, we can reach higher, high level. It is a long term target, but it’s achievable”.

But Pobee who is noted for his tough-talking and firm position on issues in an interview with Sportscrusader.com said the provocative language used by the Israeli is not aimed at the Ghanaians as it has been reported but rather at his employers – herein according to Mr. Pobee is the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

He said, “who between the Ghana Football Association and Ministry of Youth and Sports employed Avram Grant?. The body that did is at the receiving end of his ‘bull s**t comment.”

“Grant’s comment is a slur on the administrators of the game who looked on idle as he spent a lot of time away from his managerial post but gets paid at the end of every month,” he added.

Eboue"s Contract Terminated By Sunderland

Sunderland defender Emmanuel Eboue has had his contract terminated by the Premier League club after being placed under an immediate suspension from football by FIFA.

The governing body confirmed on Thursday that Eboue has been banned from football for one year or until he pays money owed to a former agent.

Now, Sunderland have made the decision to rip up the Ivorian’s contract just months after terminating Adam Johnson’s contract for sex crimes.

Eboue was ordered to pay Sebastien Boisseau in July 2013 following a contractual dispute.

The defender, who joined Sunderland on March 9, was fined 30,000 Swiss francs (£21,000) in September 2014 for failing to meet the agreement and was given 120 days to settle the case with Boisseau.

The is is the second consecutive tournament where the three-time African champions Nigeria will not feature in the finals and the team sent a contrite message to fans on Wednesday.

Liverpool Charged By Uefa

Uefa have charged Liverpool for illicit chanting at Old Trafford during this month’s Europa League tie against Manchester United.

The two Premier League teams share a heated rivalry and, despite chants about the Munich air disaster being heard, the Reds have been punished for an offensive song about the city of Manchester that was recorded in the report provided by Uefa’s match delegate Jean Paul Mievis.

As reported by The Times, Liverpool fans chanted that ‘Manchester is full of s**t during the second leg of their Round of 16 tie that took place on March 17th.

It is reported that the Reds are unlikely to be able to appeal against the ruling, as the chanting was clearly audible, but they may be able to challenge its moral legitimacy as songs about Hillsborough and Munich have prompted no response from Uefa.
