Can Inter Allies Make Life Difficult For Kotoko On Saturday?

Ghana Premier League (GPL) side, Inter Allies knows picking points at home will be crucial towards their survival hopes in the competition this season.

The ‘Eleven Is To One’ as they are known, made a shaky start to the competition this season, and, at one point occupied the bottom spot of the 16-club competition.

With 17 games into the season, they have amassed 18 points and sit in 13 position, just one place off the relegation zone.

This weekend, they play Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Tema Sports Stadium in a game they cannot afford to drop points as they could find themselves in the drop zone if other results go against them.

They know the magnitude of this encounter and, will seek to make the most of their home advantage as they welcome the Porcupines to the port city of Tema.

Coach Jimmy Cobblah and his charges will be out to inflict on Kotoko their sixth defeat of the campaign as they seek to climb up the ladder and make good on their potential.

In their ranks are some of the finest local talents in Ghana and, their position on the table somehow does not reflect their true value in terms of what they possess.

Coach Cobblah admits this will be a very difficult assignment against an in-form Kotoko side that is second on the table and has an eye for the title.

“Games against giants like Asante Kotoko does not come easy and, we will have to be ready for a difficult task”, he has said in the build up to this game.

“They are chasing the title and, will therefore come at us feeling confident that they will win, but, the points are also very important to us and we will be up for it on the day”, he added.

He will hope that his boys will not be overawed by the occasion as they go in search of their fifth in of the campaign and most importantly, the three points that will push them up the ladder in their quest to beat the drop.

Whether it will happen or not will be answered at the Tema Sports Stadium on Saturday when the pride of Tema comes up against the Porcupines.
