Dauda Mohammed is optimistic of Black Satellites qualification over Ethiopia U-20 team.

The former U-20 world champions will host the young Walias on Sunday, June 12, at the newly constructed 15,000-seater Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the Central Region.

Ghana lost the first leg 2-1 to Ethiopia three-weeks ago and Dauda Mohammed is sure of his side’s qualification.

“We know what it has stake. We have to win to get a qualification into the next stage of the qualifiers and I’m sure we will achieve that,” Dauda told pulse.com.gh

“In the first leg they won at their home and the away goal we had there will help us a lot. We will not be complacent because we are going all out to get a convincing win on the day.

“We have a good team and a good technical bench so we are calling on the fans to rally their support behind us on Sunday,” he added

A qualification for Ghana will see them face the winner of Senegal and Tunisia in the final qualifying game for the 2017 AYC tourney which will be held in Zambia.

Black Satellites Defender Confident Of Ethiopia Ahead Of Return Leg

Black Satellites defender Issahaku Konda remains confident his side will sail through to the next stage of the next stage of the African Youth Championship qualifiers.

The satellites slumped to a 2-1 defeat in Addis Ababa in the first leg of the qualifiers but the Satellites defender is confident his side will end the continental dreams of their East Africans in Cape Coast.

The Wa All Stars defender ruled out any surprise score line for the visitors and called on the Ghanaian community to rally behind the team.

Issahaku Konda cited the unfriendly climatic conditions for their defeat but promises to atone for their early setback.

The imposing centre back, who has been tipped for stardom, called for patience and self belief ahead of the return leg scheduled for the new Cape Coast sports stadium.

“I am very much confident we will sail through as a unit if we play to our strength.

We are collectively aware of the need for qualifications to the next and will account for it in the return leg.

The Wa All Stars hard tackling defender returned to domestic action to put in a man of the match performance at home to Kumasi Asante Kotoko on match day 14 at the Wa Park.

The Satellites host their Ethiopian counterparts with a 2-1 first leg deficit to overturn at the Cape Coast sports stadium early next month.

Ghana’s impressive preparations for this month’s Africa Youth Championship (AYC) qualifier Ethiopia continued as they beat Namibia 4-1 in a friendly.

The Black Satellites who were superior in the encounter had their noses in front courtesy of Dauda Mohammed, who later scored his second of the game in the second department at the at the Lizzy Sports Complex.

Jonathan Osabutey added Ghana’s second before Pandeni Kandjabanga reduced the deficit for the Young Warriors.

Dreams FC midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey restored Ghana’s two-goal lead before Mohammed added the fourth goal in the second half of the game.

Namibia will face South Africa on May 31, while Ghana take on Ethiopia.

Satellites Midfielder Amazed By Managerial Class Of Masud Didi Dramani

Black Satellites midfielder Mohammed Armando has openly expressed his affection for head coach Masud Didi Dramani ahead of their crunch African Youth Championship qualifier away to Ethiopia.

The gargling midfield anchor man has admitted enjoying every single minute spent with the ace tactician since arriving in the camp of the national U-20 side.

The stylish defensive midfielder leaned on the technical impetus of his trainer and the collective motivation within the playing squad as enough to beat any side that comes their way.

The Red Bull Academy graduate stormed his way to stardom with a breakthrough season at the Wa Park with All Stars in the 2014/15 FCPPL campaign.

Speaking to sportscrusader.com ahead of the Satellite’s trip to Addis Ababa, Armando said, “It is always good to be given the platform with such trainers in your career as a footballer”.

“I have enjoyed every bit of my time spent with coach Masud Dramani since arriving in camp,” he said.

He continued: “I am amazed at his affection and how he handles young players both on and off the pitch”.

“I am lucky to have worked under so many caring trainers like Coach Nuru, Jimmy Cobblah, Enos Adepa and now Coach Masud Dramani,” he noted.

The ambidextrous midfielder further added, “collectively we are bent on sealing qualification as a group of players”.

“We are not under any side in the continent and we are using this platform to showcase Ghana football to the outside world, Insha Allah qualifications will be ours,” he assured.

Mohamed Armando is expected to blossom into one of the most complete midfielders in the near future with his quick feet and energetic runs from the middle of the pitch.

Kwame Baah Earns Praise Of National Goalkeepers" Trainer

Goalkeeper’s trainer of the Black Satellites Issah Najahu has lauded Kwame Baah for his unique talent between the sticks.

The Inter Allies young goalie earned the praise of his national goalkeeper’s trainer after showing enough reflexes while in action with the Black Satellites team.

Baah leads a quartet of goalkeeper’s in the camp of the U-20 national side as they prepare to take on Ethiopia in an African Youth Championship qualifier next week.

Issah Najahu, who has handled many young goalkeepers in the country credited Kwame Baah for his total contribution for the team.

The former Real Tamale United and Wa All Stars custodian heaped kind words on all four shot stoppers in camp but singled out Baah for special praise.

“Kwame is a young goalkeeper any side will like to have between your post. He is a complete goalkeeper and works with the right attitude as well. He look destined for greatness.

Fortunately in our camp, we have almost equal replacement for the Inter Allies goalkeeper.

The likes of Richmond Ayi from Techiman City or Benjamin Asiedu and Fatawu Dida are just as good as Kwame between the post as well.

“Our goalkeeping department has no problem for now,” Najahu told sportscrusader.com.

The trainer added, “Baah’s experience from the previous Championship tells me his value and what he brings on board. He is a very composed shot stopper and has demonstrated it times without number”.

The Black Satellites picked a bye in the opening rounds of the African U20 Youth Championship slated for Zambia 2017.

The Ghanaians head to Adiss Ababa for the first leg of the qualifiers on May 18 before hosting the Ethiopians later.

Ben Tetteh Makes Injury Return For Standard Liege

Belgium based Ghana youth international Benjamin Tetteh made an injury return for Standard Lierge in the PRO League Play-offs at the weekend.

The 19 year old forward took a knock in his last appearance for Standard away to Waalsund Beveren which forced him out just 12 minutes into tie.

The Dreams FC graduate however returned earlier than expected though missing the last two weeks for his ambitious club.

The former U20 lanky forward was billed to miss at least three weeks of competitive action for his paymasters but returned a week earlier in 2-0 defeat at Mouscoron.

Tetteh missed the last play-off clash with Kortrijk but his 20 minutes impressive display as a substitute might have earned him a place in the starting berth for the visit of Mouscoron in the return leg.

The Ghanaian import traded Dreams FC for the Belgian giants and has so far racked in an impressive nine goals in his debut season.

Ghana To Play Either Ethiopia OR Somalia

Ghana Black Satellites will play the winner of Ethiopia v Somalia in the upcoming Africa Youth Championship qualifiers scheduled to take place in Zambia next year.

The national U-20 team will join the qualifiers in the second and has been drawn against either Ethiopia or Somalia.

The draws were conducted during the CAF Executive Committee meeting held on Friday, 5 February 2016 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Seven teams will emerge from the qualifiers to join the hosts for the final tournaments early next year.

The final tournament of the U-20 AFCON has been fixed for 26 February to 12 March 2017 in Zambia.

The top four countries at the continental championship will qualify to represent Africa at the FIFA World Youth Championship in South Korea.

Ghana finished third in the last edition the Africa Youth Championship in Senegal and were knocked out of the World Cup in New Zealand after 3-0 loss to West Africa neighbours, Mali at the round of sixteen.
