Fawaz Zowk Takes Swipe At Hearts

Hearts of Oak former management member, Fawaz Zowk claims the current heads of the club lack leadership skills.

According to him, the woes of the club of late is down to poor management by board and management.

The Phobians have been in the news recently for various reasons, notably their failure to lure top players to the club and friction between head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi and managing director Vincent Odotoi Sowah.

“In the past, the board and management members sacrificed their own resources to make sure that Hearts get good players for the club,” Zawk told Otec FM.

“We were also having prominent management and board members who did recruitments with a magical touch, something the current administration lacks. They lack several things to manage the club to be honest.” He added.

Zawk also called on the hierarchy of the club to sacrifice Sowah ahead of Kenichi if the former is the cause of the confusion.

However, he aadvised Kenichi to respect his employers.

“Odotey Sowah should be sacrificed and let things be like that if indeed he’s making things difficult for the coach.

“It’s not good for us to sack the coach in the middle of the season. United we stand, divided we fall. So for me, let’s all rally behind the coach because looking at where we are on the league log, it is not bad as compared to last season.

“We have to give the coach the support to complete the season and then we assess his performance and behaviour.”

He added: “I want to advice the coach to give full respect to management because we all want the best for the club.”

Hearts are fourth on the league log after the first round of the season with 26 points, two less than leaders Wa Stars.

Hearts of Oak Management Urges Fans To Remain Calm

The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited has asked fans of the club to remain calm ahead of the second round of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.

It is urging fans to rather keep their focus on helping the team win matches when the GPL resumes on 25/26 June as the Phobians chase the title.

Hearts will return to the Accra Sports Stadium to play Dreams FC in the first game of the second round, with fans being allowed to enter the venue after the completion of the two-match home ban.

And the Management is urging fans to hold their nerve ahead of the resumption of the competition as they are putting in measures to ensure that the team is successful at the end of the season.

Hearts of Oak finished the first round of the GPL in fourth position with 26 points, two short of the leaders Wa All Stars after 15 games.

The Management said, there is all to play for in the second round, and that, Hearts of Oak is in a good position in the race for the GPL title, and, will be going for it when the competition returns.

“We will like to urge all of our fans to remain steadfast and continue supporting the team as we prepare for the resumption of the competition,” a management member said.

“We urge the fans to desist from all acts on violence and embrace peace as we strive hard to push the Hearts brand forward to an appreciable height.

At this stage in our lives as a club, we need to be mindful of what we say because a lot will depend on us to turn this great team around. And we must be sure to tell the world the truth to project our image as a club and help push this brand”.

The team is in training preparing for the second half of the season, and, they are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that Hearts achieves its objective for the season.

“The players have been well motivated to carry out this task, and, we will therefore urge fans to keep supporting them as they go in defence of our colours”.

The Management has called on fans not to repeat the incidents at the Accra Sports Stadium which led to the two-game empty stadium ban imposed by the Ghana Football Association.

“Fans should follow us to our games both home and away, and, desist from acts that could bring the game into disrepute, but rather support the boys at all times to deliver the needed results”, the official said.
