Yaw Preko To Replace Kenichi

Hearts of Oak insist Sergio Traguil will not succeed Kenichi Yatsushashi after the Japanese mutually parted company with the club on Monday.

Sportscrusader.com sources revealed that the Portuguese will sign a three year deal with the Rainbow club on Tuesday.

However, the club continue to dispell reports linking the 35-year-old to the senior technical job at the club.

According to Frank Nelson, Yaw Preko, who understudied Kenichi, will lead the team in their upcoming matches until a substantive replacement is found.

“Yaw Preko is our assistant coach and I believe he has acquired some experience from Kenichi and other coaches,” Frank Nelson said in an interview with Hot FM.

“He has coached lower division teams before and he has what it takes to steer the affairs of the team until substantive coach is appointed,” he stated.

However, Sportscrusader.com sources are confident that Sergio Daniel Traguil will be the next coach of the club. He is expected to meet his technical team at 13:00 or 14HRS GMT today.

Hearts of Oak has rubbished reports that Portuguese trainer, Sergio Daniel Tranguil will succeed Kenichi Yatsuhashi after the Japanese mutually parted ways with the club on Monday.

There are media reports that the Portuguese coach was brought into the country to take over from Kenichi Yatsuhashi even before the Japanese American mutually parted ways with the Phobians.

But Strategic Committee Chairman Vincent Sowah Odotei has poured ice on those rumours.

“We must put it on record that Sergio was not employed to take over from Kenichi as it’s been reported in the media,” Mr. Vincent Odotei told Asempa FM.

“Kenichi was fully in charge of the first team before we mutually parted ways due to his engagement in next month and we felt cannot cope in his absence.

“We at Hearts of Oak think the reason why our standard of play has fallen, we believe is because we lacked that quality because of the death of colts football.

“We believe to invest in the game, any player that will graduate from Royal Oaks and Auroras must have the right training hence the appointment of Sergio.”

Sergio will be in charge of the Royal Oaks which is the Clubs U-17 team as well as Auroras which is the Club’s U-20 team, according to Hearts of Oak.

However, Sportscrusader.com can confirm that the 35-year old will sign a 3-year deal today (Tuesday) and take over from Kenichi Yatsushashi as coach of the senior team.

The Japanese-American has helped the Phobians rediscover their believe and mojo since they last won the league title in 2008 and this made supporters believe the bad spell will end this season.

But their hopes were dashed late yesterday as management of the club confirmed the mutual exit of the spiky haired trainer.

In his first interview since the news broke the former Aspire Soccer Academy trainer has admitted bitterness at leaving the former premier league Champions.

“I’m bitter, I feel so bitter to be in this situation. It is sad that I’m leaving but it is a situation I cannot control,” He told TV3.

The outspoken Coach led Hearts of Oak to an unbeaten run away from home at the end of the first round of the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts To Decide Kenichi"s Fate

Hearts of Oak will decide the fate of head coach Kenichi Yatsushashi today (Thursday).

Media reports has gone viral that the Japanese-American has been sacked, but Sportscrusader.com understands that the reports are not ‘entirely’ accurate.

According to Sportscrusader.com sources, the Strategic Committee of the Phobians asked the former Aspire Academy players development coach to present his report for the first round of the season today.

However, the future of the 46-year-old has been discussed and the Strategic Committee unanimously agreed that he should be shown the exit door.

And that, according to sources, amounts to his sacking. The club ‘may communicate’ it’s decision to the Japanese after the meeting which is expected to close at 3:30 PM, but they are afraid of the repercussions.

Sources say his futur only under threat after several disputes with management over issues ranging from his alleged disdain for authority to discussing internal club issues on social media.

Should Hearts part company with Kenichi Yatsushashi, Kosda Papic and Yussif Abubakar are the candidates lined up to succeed him.
