Kumasi Asante Kotoko versatile winger Eric Donkor has said the playing body of the club share the frustration of the supporters.

The Porcupine Warriors has picked only 1 point out possible 6 in their first two Ghana Premier League fixtures, and the supporters thirst for success is hitting it’s peak.

The usual buzz accompanying the team after a win was completely ignored by the supporters as they filed out of the dressing room after a two-all draw against Medeama SC three days ago, and Eric Donkor, the captain for the day, said the players are unhappy with the abysmal start and would do everything possible to improve on it.

“We also share the frustrations of the supporters,” Eric Donkor said.

“This wasn’t the results we expected but this is football and this is how it goes sometimes. We will keep talking to ourselves as colleagues and do everything we can to show good results.

“We are going back to the training pitch where we believe that the coach would correct every mistake we did today to get us back on track.”

Kotoko will host Ashanti Gold today (Wednesday) and will hope to kick start a win before the season clock tick faster beyond their reach.

Duncan Blame Referee For Medeama Draw

David Duncan, head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has blamed centre referee for his side’s two-all against Medeama SC on Sunday on Match Week Three of the Ghana Premier League.

Goals from Bennett Ofori and Michael Yeboah were cancelled by Malik Akowuah and Bismarck Oppong to earn the Mauve and Yellows a point.

And the former Great Olympics boss believes poor decisions against them influenced the result.

“I thought right from the beginning, the way officiating was going really unsettled us,” the former Hearts of Oak boss said after the game.

“We didn’t know what intentions the middle man had coming into the game. Quite a number of free-kicks in threatening positions were awarded Medeama out of which they got one goal.

“So in situations like this you really do not know what to tell your players: whether to take it easy or play above more than 100%.

“But I thought goals that could have been prevented were what we conceded; we also had fortuitous goals.”

David Duncan was however satisfied with a point because he believes it was a fair reflection of the game apart from the referee’s blunders.

“At the end of the day, two-all for me is a fair reflection of the game apart from the initial error officiating from the centre referee.”

Initial center referee Prosper Adii was replaced by Emmanuel Ansah (fourth official) in the second half after he alleged that he was threatened during recess.
