David Duncan rejected a three-match ultimatum from the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko to salvage the club’s season sportscrusader.com sources has revealed.
The Porcupines are yet to win a league match since the start of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, losing two and drawing the rest in the four games they have played so far.
The latest of their miserable season so far, was a 2-0 loss to Berekum Chelsea last weekend at the Golden City Park, a result that has put under-fire coach, David Duncan under even more pressure.
Management called for an emergency board meeting on Monday to discuss the way forward for the record Ghana champions with the future of Coach Duncan originally not on the menu, but, a management member brought it up and demanded they take a look at it.
Initially, the Board said it was a non-issue and wanted the way forward for the club and not to apportion blames.
But sources say he insisted on the matter and management asked for his opinion on the subject matter. He proposed a three-match ultimatum or Duncan should resign.
David Duncan told the Board and Management this is not a situation he can’t handle, so he will not relinquish his position. He also rejected the three-match ultimatum, but promised to get things back on track as soon as possible.
