Kotoko Fans Talk Too Much - Langabel

Converted Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan, Joseph Langabel has called on supporters of the club to speak-less and support the club more to  aid the growth and development of the club.

 

The national chief drummer has received verbal attacks from some selected Kotoko fans notably, Supporters Chairman Kwaku Amponsah who has blamed him (Langabel) for their match week 1 defeat away to WAFA at Sogakope.

Langabel for the first time began his new-found love for Kotoko when he led a team of supporters drum and sing along as the 24-times Ghana premier league champions conceded a goal each in the first and second half of the game.

Asante Kotoko board member and also Supporters Chairman Kwaku Amponsah blamed Langabel for the 2-0 defeat, stating the drumming angered the gods of the Volta land and this provocation led to the defeat.

The Black stars drummer missed Kotoko 2-2 draw against Medeama SC, and this has seen Langabel vocally ask the leadership of the supporters to speak-less and support more with their voice instead.

He said, “Some Kotoko fans don’t know how to support the club as true supporters of the club. They have no idea what it takes to support such a big club. He (Amponsah) is not helping the club blaming others for the clubs defeat and thus makes no sense.”

Kotoko Boosted With Injury Good News

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been boosted with the return of six first team players who missed the Premier League opener at WAFA.

Physiotherapist Jerry Newton confirmed to the club’s website defender Emmanuel Asante; midfielders, Randoff Kwasi Nti and Frank Sarfo Gyamfi as well as strikers Dauda Mohammed, Kwame Boateng and Adzeko Mandela have recovered from their various injuries.

 

He disclosed that the medical team has released the six players who have recovered to the team and they have been involved in training this week.

The team physiotherapist said the players would be up for selection against the MTN FA Champions on March 6, 2016 if Coach David Duncan finds them ready to play.

 

Though a positive development, Kotoko’s injury concern is still unhealthy following Jerry Newton’s disclosure that goalkeeper Felix Annan would be out for eight weeks and not four weeks as earlier predicted by the medical team.

Jackson Owusu"s Mother Apologises For Injury

Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder, Jackson Owusu’s mother, Madam Doris Abu has sent a passionate apology to the club on behalf of his son for the unfortunate long term injury that will keep him out action for 8-months.

 

Jackson, suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula early Sunday morning while playing in a “Sunday Special” match.

He was quickly rushed to the hospital where a surgery was performed the next day on his injured left foot and has since been planted after the operation in a Plaster of Paris (POP).

 

Madam Doris Abu admitted the son got it all wrong to have defied orders asking them (Kotoko players) to stay away from all football activities and just relax in readiness for the new league season with just a week to its commencement.

 

“I was very saddened with the news of his injury as he had informed me he was running some few errands at nearby town, Maakro. The zeal and enthusiasm with which he has been talking about the 2015/16 season got me more emotional after I was informed Jackson had broken his leg and won’t play a part in the new season,” she told Kumasi based, Boss fm.

“We regret the incident and humbly apologise to the traditional owner of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the management of the club and to please forgive my son (Jackson Owusu) for the unfortunate incident. We ask the fans and all lovers of football to please say a word of prayer for him each time they kneel to pray,” she added.

 

 

Kotoko will begin life this weekend without their injured midfielder with the first game away to WAFA at Sogakope on February 20.
