I Won’t Return To Play For The Black Stars

It is said that, it is an honour to be invited as a footballer to represent ones nation of birth. Not many do see the and share the same view as it’s in the case of Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfield dynamo, Yussif Chibsah.

 

The 32 – year old Chibsah has represented Ghana as a footballer  with 13 appearances under his belt and also captained the 2004 Olympics football team has ruled out a return to the senior national side, the Black Stars.

 

He said, “I’m not interested in playing for the Black Stars, even if the coaches invite me I will not honor that invitation because my time has passed.”

 

Chibsah currently plays in the Swedish league with Ljungskile SK.

GFA Questioned Over The Usage Of ‘Archaic Mitre Balls’

Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach David Duncan has questioned why Ghana football has still not caught up with what elite football is delivering and perhaps teaching.

 

 

Ghana football still uses the over-sized football and not the newly manufactured balls during games both in the FA cup and league cup matches. Many clubs and players have been complaining and believe it also contributes to the poor display from players in matches whether competitive or in a competition.

A Mitre branded football

Coach Duncan, one of the few football related personalities in Ghana who has taken full advantage of social media was vocal yesterday expressing his view on the Mitre ball used in the local league.

 

The outspoken coach believes the use of the over-sized Mitre balls for matches negatively affects Ghanaian clubs when they are involved in international matches and the balls used are the FIFA standard.

The former Hearts of Oak coach tweeted,“I think the FA should reconsider the use of MITRE footballs in our local game. Why ain’t we using balls used in all international matches?.”

Coach Duncan led Kotoko in their first game in Libya which they lost by 2 – goals to 1 against Al-Ittihad.
