Photos: World XI Arrive For Vodafone Unity Match

The Star-studded ex and current footballers have arrived in Ghana for the much awaited Vodafone Unity Match 2016 games between record Ghana Premier League champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the Ghana Black Stars on June 8 and 11 at the Kumasi and Accra Sports Stadia respectively.


The team led by former England and Arsenal defender, Sol Campbell also saw the arrival of Dutch legend Edgar Davids, Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke, Liverpool Great Emile Heskey, Cameroun International and FC Barcelona tough-tackling midfielder Alex Song, Ghanaian-born and ex-Dutch international George Boateng and former Chelsea centre back William Gallas.


Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah will lead the team depart Accra for Kumasi where they will hold a press briefing before lacing up their boots to play against the Reds (Kotoko).

Asamoah Gyan Lauds 2016 Vodafone Unity Match

Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has lauded Primeval Media Ghana over the organization of the 2016 Vodafone Unity Match.


 


 

The Unity Match will see former Black Stars captain,Stephen Appiah lead a plethora of stars for the games coming up in June 8 and 11 in Kumasi and Accra respectively.


 


 

Stephen Appiah’s World IX play Kumasi Asante Kotoko at Baba Yara on the 8th and later engage the Black Stars on 11th at the Accra Sports Stadium.


 


 

The Vodafone 2016 Unity Match is meant to foster peace ahead of the 2016 November Polls in Ghana received the thumbs up of Asamoah Gyan who was full of praise for Stephen Appiah and Primeval for coming up with such an initiative to herald the 2016 elections.


 


“It is a great thing. When I heard it I wished I could be here to support the event but it is rather unfortunate work has to go on.”He told Radio Gold Sports.


 

“Stephen Appiah has been an inspiration for Ghana football, he is a legend and he is out organizing this kind of games and so kudos to him and I will keep on praying for him because he is doing a work for Ghana.”

“What we all need is peace in this coming election so I support it 100%.” Gyan added.

Primeval Consult, the household name in Sports events organization in Ghana having held a successful farewell game for Stephen Appiah in 2015 with a host of world stars like former Dutch international, George Boateng, Emmanuel Adebayor, Samuel Eto’o in attendance.

VUM 2016 Ticket Prices Released

Ticket prices for the much-anticipated Vodafone Unity Match 2016 have been revealed.


The match, an initiative of event powerhouse, Primeval Media, to promote peace and unity ahead of the 2016 general elections, will see a galaxy of world football players – retired and active – travel to Ghana to play a two-legged tie.


Stephen Appiah will lead a world XI side to face record Ghana premier league champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars at the Kumasi and Accra Sports stadia on June 8 and 11 respectively.


Fans of the beautiful game will have to acquire tickets for either games at the following rates in Kumasi; Popular Stand – Ghc 20, Centre Line – Ghc 30, VIP – Ghc 50, VVIP – 100 and in Accra; Popular stand – Ghc 20, Osu Stand – Ghc 30, VIP Lower – Ghc 50, VIP Upper – Ghc 100 and VVIP – Ghc 150.


The Communications Team of Primeval Media, organisers of the event, have informed Sportscrusader.com of two impending raffles, one each in Kumasi and Accra, to be supervised by the National Lottery Authority (NLA) which will enable fans win special prizes with their tickets.

Video: Vodafone Unity Match 2016 Adidas Address the Media

Primeval Media organised a Press Soiree last Friday at the forecourt of the Multi purpose court of the Accra Sports Stadium.


The event was meant to officially unveil Ghana’s best telecommunication network service provider, Vodafone Ghana who has been branded number one in voice clarity and internet provider as well as interacting with various stakeholders in the football fraternity, members of the sporting media and corporate world.
