Barcelona’s left back Jordi Alba has injured himself while playing for Spain and is a big doubt for the game against Real Madrid.

Alba sprained his ankle during Spain game yesterday. Not yet clear if he will be available for the game against Madrid on Saturday.
One of the best left-backs in the game, Alba is a key player whose ability to run up and down the pitch is an integral part of Barcelona’s attack too. If Alba doesn’t recover in time, then Enrique will be forced to field Jeremy Mathieu as left back and he probably will be up against Gareth Bale.
The Frenchman will struggle against Bale’s pace and trickery and this lopsided battle between these two could be key in deciding the game.
This is one of the reasons why club managers hate international breaks because certain key players travel long distances without enough recovery time just to play meaningless friendlies and end up getting injured.
