Assistant Coach of Ghana Premier League leaders, Hearts of Oak, Yaw Preko has praised the performance exhibited by his side in their 3-0 win over Wassaman United in the MTH FA Cup on Sunday.
The Accra based side continued their terrific start to the campaign by thrashing Wasaman despite using fringe players for the Cup encounter.
Yaw Preko, who led the team in the absence of Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuhashi, handed first start of the season to defender Isaac Baadu, Midfielder Leonard Tawiah as well as strikers Kwame Kizito and Kenneth Okoro.
And after the game, the former Ghanaian international said the players impressed him.
“We took the game very serious. We had a few players coming back from injury,” Yaw Preko said, adding that, “The likes of Kizito, Ollenu and Okoro had a chance to showcase what they are capable of.”
“Every player has to fight his way back into the team because the train is moving.
“We psyched them up because we knew Wassaman were coming into the game with good form having won their three previous matches.
“We did not take it lightly. We went in for the kill and thank God we did it.” He added.
Hearts are now through to the Round of 32 of the MTN FA Cup and will play host to Wa All Stars on Match Day 6 of the Ghana Premier League this Sunday.
