Togbe Afede XIV Charges Hearts Players To Aim High

Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has challenged players of the club to aim to be the best in the country as they look to improve their careers.


He said this is the surest way they come become super stars in their chosen profession and in a sport that s very competitive.


Togbe Afede XIV said these when he hosted the players, technical team and Strategy Committee to a dinner at his residence in Accra.


The Phobians have made a promising start to the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, and, sit on top of the standing after four games. They are unbeaten in their games so far and have looked impressive in all of their matches.


Togbe Afede XIV urged the players to build on their excellent start to the season to finish the campaign on a high as the targets a first GPL title in some six seasons.


“The season has only just begun, we have started well and we have the players and technical team that can carry us far this season,” the Hearts Board Chairman said.


He continued: “I therefore urge you to sustain this development by train hard, be disciplined and forge teamwork at all times going into the rest of the games”.


The Board and Strategy Committee he added, “is here to serve your best interests, and, we therefore entreat you to put up the best attitude and win us the games”.


“As fans, what we demand is continuous success which is the only winning bonus we derive you’re your efforts,” he stated.

Togbe Afede led Board takes over Hearts

The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak, has taken over the day-to-day running of the club, following the resignation of Managing Director Gerald Ankrah.


A statement issued by Kwame Opare Addo, Communications Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, said the Board will be supported by the four-member Strategic Committee headed by Vincent Odoteye Sowah.


According to the statement, the move was to ensure smooth running of the club, till a suitable candidate is found for the club.


The Managing Director Gerald Ankrah early this week resigned his post after months of pressure by supporters and some high ranking officials of the club.


It said “the Board after carefully analyzing the resignation letter, accepted his resignation and thanked him for the services he rendered the club since his appointment wished him well in all his future endeavours”.

G 6 is not for experiment - Togbe Afede warns Kenichi




Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV, has told coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi that, the impending G6 Tournament under the auspices of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) is not meant for experiment.


At a tensed Board Meeting on Tuesday, in Accra, the Board Chairman who was not pleased with the performance of the team during the pre-season told the coach at the meeting that he was not in the mood for anymore experiments and that he would not entertain any poor performance from the team.


According to the information, the Board Chairman told the coach, he should be preapared to face the sack if the team fails to perform at the competition.

Newly appointed Board Chairman, Alhaji Braimah Akambi confirmed in an interview that, the Board has given him an opportunity to reverse the reversing trends of the club.


He said the Board was not happy with the performance of the team in the pre season matches hence the need to sound the warning.


Sportscrusader gathers that, the coach may be given sack should the team performa abysmally in the competition early next year.


Hearts has not been impressive in the pre season and this has given the Board a cause to worry.
