Volta Region Division Two League To Commence On May 28

The Volta Regional Football Association (VRFA) has set the 28th of May 2016 for the commencement of the 2015/16 season of the Regional Division Two League.

Over 60 clubs will engage in this season’s league, vying for only one slot for promotion into the GN Bank National Division One League.

This season’s league is expected to be a competitive one with the entrance of newly promoted clubs across all sectors of the region.

Akoefe shining stars of Ho, Agbagorme Shinning Stars of Agbagorme, Afife FC, Nunchubru FC are few of the newly qualified teams in this seasons league.

Confirming the new about the commencement of the league, Mr. Eric Eli Adzie, the Public Relations Officer of the VRFA told Volta Star Radio that his outfit are ready for the start of the league.

“Yes we ready for this season”, Mr. Ahadzi said.

“The regional football association has done its preparatory works and is poised for an interesting season. The inspection of venues was done by the technical committee, referees and other stakeholders are just in anticipation of this League”, he added.

Qualified 2nd Div Clubs For MTN FA Cup

Nine regions have submitted their list of qualified Second Division clubs for the preliminary round of the 2015/16 MTN FA Cup competition.

The competition which was won by Medeama SC last season will see 44 clubs vie for the next phase of the second flagship inter-club football competition.

There six clubs from the Eastern, Western, Brong Ahafo and Central regions, and five from the Volta and Ashanti regions.

From the Northern Zone, four clubs will represent central north whilst there three each from the upper regions. The Greater Accra Region is yet to confirm its participating teams.
