Kwadwo Asamoah named in Juventus squad at home to Hellas Verona.

Italy based Black Stars wing back Kwadkwo Asamoah has been named in the Juventus squad for the Wednesday afternoon clash at home to Hellas Verona.

The Turin based utility defender has been ravaged by series of injuries in the course of the season with just three appearances all season.

The former Udinese defender however overcame his turbulent time on the treatment table to make the grade for the Old Ladies in the Serie A.

The 27 year old Black Stars last featured for the Beinconeri on December 4 as a 20 minutes substitute for Patrice Evra before picking another setback in his quest to put aside a career threatening injury.

Juventus halted a run of one win in the opening six matches to muster an impressive eight consecutive victories including a last 16 knockout fixture against Bayern Munich in the European Champions league.

His timely return to form will boost any chance of joining Max Allegri’s European side after missing out on the gruop stages.

Samuel Inkoom returns in heavy home defeat for Boavista

Samuel Inkoom returned from his suspension for Boavista in a heavy home defeat to Moreirense in the Portuguese liga.

The Black Stars full back lasted the full duration of the game as Boavista suffered a 0-3 reverse to drop further into the relegation zone.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko right back endured an indifferent night on his return and rightly went into the referee’s note book midway through the first half.

The 25 year old year Ghana international was sent off at home to Estoril in December and has since missed the festive pack.

The flying full back had a night off in front of his teaming fans for the struggling Boavista on his return from suspension.

Inkoom missed the last three fixtures for his Portuguese struggling side and almost returned to the suspension room 34 minutes after kick off.

Inkoom has since managed 10 appearance for the relegation threatened side with 2 red cards under his belt already.

A first half opener from Iuri Medaura was compounded by second half strikes from Raffael Martin and Victor Gomes in a highly disappointing performance for the home side.

The defeats leaves Boavista on 10 points from 15 matches and four adrift of safety.

Godfred Donsah donates to Compassion is Love Children"s Home.

Ghana Youth international Godfred Donsah has donated food items worth 4,500 to the inmates of Compassion is Love Children’s Home in Sunyani, in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The Italy based midfielder put smiles on the faces of the children on new year day with food items such as rice, maize, sugar, and other assorted items.

The presentation was done on behalf of the hard tackling midfielder, who is gearing up for the second half of the Serie A season.

The Bologna defensive screen donated the items as part of his philanthropic relationship with the needy in the society.

Some items donated in the package include bag of rice, maize, sugar, cartons of milk, beverages and babies diapers.

Madam Julliet of the Children’s home recieved the package on behalf of the children from Prince Agyemang Duah who presented the 4,500 cedis worth of items.

Godfred Donsah switched camp from Cagliari to Bologna at the start of the 2015/16 season in the Serie A. He has since managed 9 appearances with Bologna with a goal against Hellas Verona under his belt.

The utility midfielder has been tipped by many fans to emulate the feat of Micheal Essien in the National team.

The former Cagliari midfielder is set to return to the pitch on Saturday January 6 at the Guiseppe Meazza in Milan.

Home of Gushegu DCE razed, 8 yr old dead

District Chief Executive of Gushegu District, Hon. Alhassan Fuseini was greeted with double agony as he lost his 8 year old daughter and his seven bedroom house at Choggu Yapalsi in the Tamale Metropolis of the Northern Region.

 

The DCE’s house at Gushegu was gutted by fire around 11:30pm.

 

According to an eye witness there were 4 children in the room of the first wife of the DCE, Madam Ayi but they managed to escape leaving Eight year old Fuseina Yussif who was sleeping alone and could not escape from the inferno.

 

The fire according to the owner of the house started at about 11:30pm in the deceased’s room, and  lasted for about three hours before fire fighters could put it out.

 

Her mortal remains have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue awaiting burial.

 

The Northern Regional Fire Service is yet to establish the cause of the fire.

 

Hon. Alhassan has however remained silent over the incident out of shock.
