PHOTOS: Republicans Unveil 2016 Kits

Ambitious Division Two side Republicans FC has unveiled the jerseys they will be wearing for the 2016 Greater Accra Regional Division Two season.

The jerseys which arrived in the country last weekend courtesy of Step by Step Agency, is predominantly Blue and Yellow with Blue Shorts and Holes to match.

Republicans players Moses Baah, Awudu Mubarak, Johnson Blay, Godfred Bempah, and Yaw Hesu modeled the jerseys for a club photo shooting session.

Black Satellites Dispatch Republicans In Friendly

Ghana’s national U20 team, the Black Satellites humbled Division Two side Madina Republicans 3-0 in a friendly encounter at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence on Wednesday.

Two quick goals in the opening 10-minutes diffused the confidence of Republicans FC, who failed to recover from the early shock and setback.

The Ghanaian third tier side were reduced to 10-men in the second half after the Satellites team extended their lead to 3-0.

Although the visitors tried to bounce back with some moments of brilliance later on in the game, their effort did nothing to threaten the Satellites who were looking comfortable all match.

The victory will serve a huge morale booster for Coach Didi Dramani’s lads as they continue preparation towards their upcoming African Youth Championship qualifiers.

Liberty Professionals Beat Republicans In Friendly

A second half brace from Youngster Annan ensured that Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals came back from a goal down to recorded a 2-1 victory over Second Division side Madina Republicans in a keenly contested Friendly encounter at the Carle Reindorf Park on Thursday morning.

Former Liberty Striker, Mohammed Cissey had put the visitors ahead in the first half but the Dansoman based side came back strongly in the second half after a string of substitutions.

The Madina based side came into the game looking to avenge a 3-0 loss they suffered at the same venue last month but the Scientific Soccer Lads once again showed them the difference in class.

The game which was lined up to keep the Liberty players active due to the postponement of their Ghana Premier League Week 11 tie against Medeama SC also provided an opportunity for some players to make a return to the Carle Reindorf Park.

Former Liberty skipper, James Dissaramah along with striker Mohammed Cissey and midfielder Francis Mawuli are all former players at the Dansoman based club who returned to face their former club on Thursday morning.

Liberty To Engage Republicans In Friendly On Thursday

Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals will host Madina Republicans FC in a friendly game on Thursday morning at the Carle Reindorf Park in Dansoman.

The Division Two side will be looking to avenge a 3-0 defeat suffered in the last friendly encounter.

Republicans have been in top shape form after the last match with Liberty, beating Amidaus Professionals and Mawuli FC along the way.

They will be hoping to send that form into the game against Liberty on Thursday.

The Premier League side will be using the game as a curtain-raiser for this weekend’s Ghana Premier League game after falling to a 3-2 defeat at home against Aduana Stars

Republicans Unveil New Players

Division Two side Republicans Football Club have unveiled their new players and the new head coach of the club Kassim Mingle ahead of the coming season in a colourful orientation ceremony at the Madina Social Welfare School on Saturday, 30th April, 2016.

The unveiling ceremony was well attended by the Board and Management of the club together with the technical team and backroom staff, and the playing body.

There were also representatives from the Union Bank of Ghana and a Professional Referee, who came to educate the players on savings and the rules of the game respectively.

New head coach Kassim Mingle was officially unveiled at the ceremony together with eight new players.

The players were taken through the history and humble beginning of the club and plans for the club’s future Academy was also revealed at the ceremony.

Chairman of the club, Moro Mohammed advised the players to take the game seriously and also mentioned that the main target for the team this season is to secure promotion to Division One.

Also, the head coach mentioned that the players should be disciplined and committed at all times in order to help develop their game and fulfill their true potentials.

Meanwhile, Union Bank of Ghana representative Mike Shola was at the gathering to lecture the players on finances and the need for savings.He encouraged the players to save the little they have now so that they could earn more in the future.

Furthermore, Referee Acquaye Adotey also educated the players on the rules of the game and demonstrated some of the more difficult tenets of the beautiful game to the team.

The ceremony was a wonderful occasion, and before the gathering ended, the players assured the Board and Management team of their willingness to be committed at all times and their ambition of fulfilling the targets of the team come the end of the coming season.
